ANNIVERSARY Anniversary: Pacey Roland and Thais celebrate 65 years together Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Apr. 12, 2015 at 12:01 AM Posted Apr. 12, 2015 at 12:01 AM » Social News Roland and Thais Pacey of Medford celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with an intimate luncheon with their immediate family on March 29, 2015, at Outback Steakhouse in Medford. Roland Gordon married Thais Gorden on March 28, 1950 in Medford. They have two children, Roland Pacey, Jr., of Medford, and Tenley Tanhoff (son-in-law Brad Tanhoff) of Medford, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Thais was born in Medford, and Roland moved to the Rogue Valley in 1946 to help his mother and stepfather, Julie and Alec Tummers, open Mon Desir Dining Inn in Central Point. Both Roland and Thais worked at Mon Desir, Roland as a bartender and Thais as a hostess. In 1955, the couple moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where Roland managed a bowling alley in San Rafael, Calif. In 1962, they moved to Grenada, Calif., where they owned and operated the Cattlemen's Club bar and cafe. They retired after selling their business in 1972. They traveled extensively, both abroad and around the country. Roland and Thais were active in the early years of the Medford-Alba Sister City program, and they made lifelong friends with several families in Alba. They spend their winters in Arizona, but their permanent home is in Medford.
