Lausmann in hospital after seizures Former Mayor Jerry Lausmann is beginning physical therapy after suffering a series of seizures earlier this month. He has been at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford since the seizures occurred June 3 at his office at KOGAP Enterprises Inc., where he is the chief executive officer. "Hopefully, he'll be home in a week or so," said Donnis Lausmann, his wife. Lausmann, 69, served as Medford's mayor from 1987 until this year. In the early 1990s, Lausmann suffered a rare form of brain cancer, and the community watched his struggle with the disease. He underwent surgery and subsequent radiation treatments. Later tests have shown him free of cancer. Donnis Lausmann said the seizures are believed to come from a change in medication that he'd been taking since the brain surgery. She said there has been no sign of regrowth of the cancer. "He's been a fighter on this," she said. "I want him to continue fighting."
