State champions from the 2014-15 high school year who were recognized were Brett Wolfe (North Medford baseball), John Cornet and Bruce Timmerman (Phoenix girls cross country), Ryan Allred (St. Mary’s boys golf) and Gail Patton (Ashland girls tennis). Phoenix boys soccer coach Dennis Flenner was honored as a National Federation of High School Coaches Section 8 coach of the year. Local middle school coaches of the year were Dan Keck and Sandee Kensinger of Hedrick.
