AIR/FM COMMUNITY RADIO STATIONS

Will the Minister of INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING be pleased to state: 


(a) whether the Government propose to give permission for setting up AIR/FM community radio services in the country; 
(b) if so, the details thereof, ( 


(c)the time by which community radio stations are likely to be started in these states? 


Answer 


THE MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING (SMT. SUSHMA SWARAJ) 


(a) & (b): At present five Community Radio Stations of AIR are functioning in thecountry. These are Nongstoin and Williamnagar in 
Meghalaya, Saiha in Mizoram, Mon and Tuensang in Nagaland. 


(c) & (d ) : Prasar Bharati has informed that no request from State Governmentshave been received for setting up of Community 
Radio Station.
