Will the Minister of INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING be pleased to state: 


(a) whether there are any impediment to rollout of FM services in the country including rural areas; 
(b) if so, the reasons therefor and reaction of the Government thereto; 


(c) the present status for commissioning of FM radio stations in various parts of the country including Karnataka, State-wise and 
location-wise; 


(d) the number of FM stations likely to be set up in the country under the FM Phase-lll, State-wise and location-wise; and 


(e) the time by which new FM stations are likely to be operational under the FM Phase-lll?

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF INFORMATION & BROADCASTING(SHRI CHOUDHURY MOHAN JATUA) 
(a) No, Sir. 
(b) Does not arise 


(c) All India Radio is commissioning 320 FM radio stations in the country.They are at various stages of implementation. Details are in 
Annexure-l. 


(d) Itis proposed to set up 806 Private FM Radio Stations under Phase-lll Details are in Annexure-ll . 


e) Policy guidelines are under the consideration of the Government.
