After turning off the ignition, be sure to press
(off) on the unit for 2 seconds to turn off the
clock display.

Otherwise, the clock display does not turn off
and this causes battery drain.

Note

If the unit is turned off by pressing l off) for 2
seconds, it cannot be operated with the card remote
commander unless (source) on the unit is pressed,
or a disc is inserted to activate the unit first.

Tip

Refer to “Replacing the lithium battery" for details on
how to replace the batteries (page 23).

Precautions

Notes on MDs

• If your car was parked in direct sunlight, allow
the unit to cool off before operating it.

• Power aerials will extend automatically while
the unit is operating.

If you have any questions or problems
concerning your unit that are not covered in this
manual, please consult your nearest Sony dealer.

Moisture condensation

On a rainy day or in a very damp area, moisture
condensation may occur inside the lenses and
display of the unit. Should this occur, the unit

■ will not operate properly. In such a case, remove
the disc and wait for about an hour until the
moisture has evaporated.

To maintain high sound quality

Be careful not to splash juice or other soft drinks
onto the unit or discs.

• Do not open the shutter of the cartridge
to expose the MD. Close immediately if
the shutter opens.

• Never touch the surface of the disc inside.

• Do not subject the discs to heat/high
temperature. Avoid leaving them in parked cars
or on dashboards/rear trays.

Notes on attaching labels

To avoid MDs becoming stuck in the unit;

- Attach the label in a suitable position.

- Remove old labels before putting new ones on.

- Replace labels that are peeling away.

Cleaning

Wipe the surface of the cartridge from time to
time with a soft, dry cloth.

Getting Started

Resetting the unit

Before operating the unit for the first time or
after replacing the car battery, you must reset the
unit.

Remove the front panel and press the RESET
button with a pointed object, such as a ballpoint
pen.

RESET button

Note

Pressing the RESET button will erase the clock setting
and some stored contents.

Detaching the front panel

You can detach the front panel of this unit to
protect the unit from being stolen.

Caution alarm

If you turn the ignition switch to the OFF
position without removing the front panel, the
caution alarm will beep for a few seconds.

If you connect an optional amplifier and do not
use the built-in amplifier, the beep sound will be
deactivated.

1 Press (off) *.

MD/CD playback or radio reception stops
(the key illumination and display remain on).
* If your car has no ACC position on the ignition
switch, be sure to turn the unit off by pressing
(off) for 2 seconds to avoid car battery drain.

2 Press ( open ) . then slide the front
panel to the right, and gently pull out
the left end of the front panel.

Notes

• If you detach the panel while the unit is still turned
on, the power will turn off automatically to prevent
the speakers from being damaged.

• Do not drop or put excessive pressure on the front
panel and its display window.

• Do not subject the front panel to heat/high
temperature or moisture. Avoid leaving it in parked
cars or on dashboards/rear trays.

Tip

When carrying the front panel with you, use the

supplied front panel case.

Attaching the front panel

Place hole ® of the front panel onto the spindle
(D on the unit, then lightly push the left side in.
Press ( SOURCE ) (or insert an MD) to operate
the unit.

Note

Do not put anything on the inner surface of the front
panel.

Setting the clock

The clock uses a 24-hour digital indication.

Example: To set the clock to 10:08

Press ( menu ) . then press either side
of ( disc/preset ) repeatedly until
“CLOCK” appears.

2 Press ( ENTER).

The clock starts. After the clock setting is
completed, the display returns to normal play
mode.

Tips

• You can set the clock automatically with the RDS
feature (page 18).

• When D. INFO mode is set to ON, the time is always
displayed (page 21).

(With optional unit)

MD Player

CD/MD Unit (optional)

In addition to playing an MD with this unit, you
can also control external CD/MD units.

Note

If you connect an optional CD unit with the CD TEXT
function, the CD TEXT information will appear in the
display when you play a CD TEXT disc.

Playing a disc

(With this unit)

1 Press (open ) and insert the disc
(labelled side up).

2 Close the front panel.

Playback starts automatically.

If a disc is already inserted, press ( SOURCE )
repeatedly until “MD” appears to start playback.

Notes

• When the last track on the disc is over, playback
restarts from the first track of the disc.

• With optional unit connected, playback of the same

source will continue on to the optional CD/MD unit.

Notes

• Some characters cannot be displayed.

• For some CD TEXT discs with very many
characters, information may not scroll.

• This unit cannot display the artist name for each
track of a CD TEXT disc.

Tip

When Auto scroll is set to OFF and the disc/track
name is changed, the disc/track name does not scroll.

Playing tracks repeatedly

— Repeat Play

The disc in the main unit will repeat a track or
the entire disc when it reaches the end. For repeat
play, you can select:

• REP-1 — to repeat a track.

• REP-2* — to repeat a disc.

• Available only when one or more optional CD/MD
units are connected.

During playback, press ® (REP)
repeatedly until the desired setting
appears in the display.

Repeat Play starts.

To return to normal play mode, select ‘'REP-
OFF.”

Playing tracks in random
order

— Shuffle Play

You can select:

• SF1UF-1 — to play the tracks on the current
disc in random order.

• SF1UF-2* 1 — to play the tracks in the current
optional CD (MD) unit in random order.

• SHUF-ALL* 2 — to play all the tracks in all the
connected CD (MD) units (including this unit)
in random order.

*1 Available only when one or more optional CD (MD)
units are connected.

*2 Available only when one or more optional MD units,
or two or more optional CD units are connected.

During playback, press © (SHUF)
repeatedly until the desired setting
appears in the display.

Shuffle Play starts.

To return to normal play mode, select “SHUF-
OFF.”

Note

“SHUF-ALL" will not shuffle tracks between CD units
and MD units.

Labelling a CD

— Disc Memo (For a CD unit with the
CUSTOM FILE function)

You can label each disc with a custom name
(Disc Memo). You can enter up to 8 characters
for a disc. If you label a CD, you can locate the
disc by name (page 11).

1 Start playing the disc you want to
label.

2 Pr ess ( menu ), th en press either side
of ( disc/preset ) repeatedly until
“NAMEEDIT” appears.

3 Press (ENTER) .

The unit will repeat the disc during the
labelling procedure,

4 Enter the characters.

O Press the (+)* 1 side of

( disc/preset ) repeatedly to select
the desired character.

If you press the (-) side of ( SEEK) . you
can move back to the left.

5 To return to normal CD play mode,
press (ENTER) .

Tips

• Simply overwrite or enter to correct or erase a
name.

• There is another way to start labelling a CD: Press
( list ) for 2 seconds instead of performing steps 2
and 3. You can also complete the operation by
pressing ( list ) for 2 seconds instead of step 5.

• You can label CDs on a unit without the CUSTOM
FILE function if that unit is connected along with a
CD unit that has the function. The Disc Memo will be
stored in the memory of the CD unit with the
CUSTOM FILE function.

Note

REP-1/shuffle play is suspended until the Name Edit is

complete.

Locating a disc by name

— List-up (For a CD unit with the CD TEXT/
CUSTOM FILE function, or an MD unit)

You can use this function for discs that have been
assigned custom names* 1 or for CD TEXT
discs* 2 .

*1 Locating a disc by its custom name: when you
assign a name fora CD (page 10) or an MD.

*2 Locating discs by the CD TEXT information: when
you play a CD TEXT disc on a CD unit with the CD
TEXT function.

Viewing the Disc Memo

As a display item, the Disc Memo always takes
priority over any original CD TEXT information.

1 Press ( TTsT) .

The name assigned to the current disc appears
in the display.

To find out about other items that can be displayed,
see page 9.

Erasing the Disc Memo

1 Press ( source) repeatedly to select
“CD.”

2 Press ( mode ) repeatedly to select the
CD unit storing the Disc Memo.

3 Press ( menu ) . then press either side
of ( disc/preset) repeatedly until
“NAME DEL” appears.

4 Press (ENTER) .

The stored names will appear in order from
the earliest entered.

5 Press either side of ( disc/preset)
repeatedly to select the disc name you
want to erase.

The stored names will appear from the
earliest ones entered.

6 Press ( enter ) for 2 seconds.

The name is erased.

Repeat steps 5 and 6 if you want to erase
other names.

7 Press (menu) twice.

The unit returns to normal CD play mode.

Notes

• When the Disc Memo for a CD TEXT disc is erased,
the original CD TEXT information is displayed.

• If you cannot find the Disc Memo you want to erase,
try selecting a different CD unit in step 2.

Selecting specific tracks for
playback

— Bank (For a CD unit with the CUSTOM FILE
function)

If you label the disc, you can set the unit to skip
or play the tracks of your choice.

1 Start playing the disc you want to
label.

2 Press ( menu ) . then press either side
of ( disc/preset) repeatedly until
“BANK SEL” appears.

3 Press (ENTER) .

4 Label the tracks.

©Press either side of ( seek)
repeatedly to select the track you
want to label.

©Press ( enter) repeatedly to select
“PLAY” or “SKIP.”

5 Repeat step 4 to set “PLAY” or “SKIP”
for all the tracks.

6 Press ( menu ) twice.

The unit returns to normal CD play mode.

Notes

• You can set",PLAY ” and “SKIP" for up to 24 tracks.

• You cannot set "SKIP" for all the tracks on a CD.

Playing specific tracks only

You can select:

• BANK-ON — to play the tracks with the
“PLAY” setting.

• BANK-INV (Inverse) — to play the tracks with
the “SKIP” setting.

1 During playback, press ( menu ) . then
press either side of ( disc/preset )
repeatedly until “BANK-ON,” “BANK-
INV,” or “BANK-OFF” appears.

2 Press the (+) side of (seek) repeatedly
until the desired setting appears.

3 Press (enter) .

Playback starts from the track following the
current one.

To return to normal play mode, select “BANK-
OFF” in step 2.

Radio

The unit can store up to 6 stations per band
(FM1, FM2, FM3, MW, and LW).

Caution

When tuning in stations while driving, use Best
Tuning Memory to prevent accidents.

Storing stations
automatically

— Best Tuning Memory (BTM)

The unit selects the stations with the strongest
signals within the selected band, and stores them
in the order of their frequency.

1 Press ( source) repeatedly to select
the radio.

2 Press ( mode ) repeatedly to select the
band.

3 Press (menu) , then press either side
of ( disc/preset) repeatedly until
“BTM” appears.

4 Press (ENTER) .

A beep sounds when the setting is stored.

Notes

• If only a few stations can be received due to weak
signals, some number buttons will retain their former
settings.

• When a number is indicated in the display, the unit
starts storing stations from the one currently
displayed.

Receiving the stored stations

1 Press ( source) repeatedly to select
the radio.

2 Press (mode) repeatedly to select the
band.

3 Press the number button (CD to ©)
on which the desired station is stored.

Tip

Press either side of ( disc/preset ) to receive the
stations in the order they are stored in the memory
(Preset Search function).

If preset tuning does not work

Press either side of (seek) to search
for the station (automatic tuning).

Scanning stops when the unit receives a
station. Repeat until the desired station is
received.

Tips

• If automatic tuning stops too frequently, turn on the
Local Seek to limit seek to stations with stronger
signals (see “Changing the sound and display
settings" on page 21).

• If you know the frequency of the station you want to
listen to, press and hold either side of ( seek) to
locate the approximate frequency, then press
(seek) repeatedly to fine adjust to the desired
frequency (manual tuning).

If FM stereo reception is poor

Select monaural reception mode.

(see “Changing the sound and display
settings’" on page 21). The sound improves,
but becomes monaural (“ST” disappears).

Storing only the desired Tuning in a station through a

stations list

You can manually preset the desired stations on

any chosen number button.

1 Press (source) repeatedly to select
the radio.

2 Press (mode) repeatedly to select the
band.

3 Press either side of (seek) to tune in
the station that you want to store.

4 Press the desired number button (CD
to (3D) for 2 seconds until “MEM”
appears.

The number button indication appears in the
display.

Note

If you try to store another station on the same number

button, the previously stored station will be erased.

— List-up

1 During radio reception, press ( list )
momentarily.

The frequency or the name assigned to the
station currently tuned in flashes.

RDS

Overview of RDS

FM stations with Radio Data System (RDS)
service send inaudible digital information along
with the regular radio programme signal. For
example, one of the following will be displayed
upon receiving a station with RDS capability.

reception results

— AF function

The alternative frequencies (AF) function allows
the radio to always tune into the area’s strongest
signal for the station you are listening to.

Frequencies change automatically.

2 Press (af) repeatedly until “AF-ON”
appears.

The unit starts searching for an alternative
frequency with a stronger signal in the same
network.

If "NO AF” flashes, the currently tuned into
station does not have an alternative frequency.

Note

When there is no alternative frequency in the area or
when you do not need to search for one, turn the AF
function off by selecting “AF-OFF."

RDS services

RDS data offers you other conveniences, such as:

• Automatic retuning of aprogramme, helpful
during long-distance drives. — AF —► page 15

• Receiving traffic announcements, even
when enjoying another programme/source. —
TA —► page 16

• Selecting stations by the type Of programme
it broadcasts. — PTY —» page 17

• Automatic clock time setting. — CT —► page
18

Notes

• Depending on the country or region, not all of the
RDS functions are available.

• RDS may not work properly if the signal strength is
weak or if the station you are tuned to is not
transmitting RDS data.

For stations without alternative
frequencies

Press either side of (seek) while the
station name is flashing (within 8
seconds).

The unit starts searching for another
frequency with the same PI (Programme
Identification) data (“PI SEEK” appears).

If the unit cannot find the same PI. the unit
returns to the previously selected frequency.

Staying with one regional programme

When AF function is on: this unit’s factory-set
setting restricts reception to a specific region, so
you won't be switched to another regional station
with a stronger frequency.

If you leave this regional programme's reception
area or would like to take advantage of the whole
AF function, select “REG-OFF” from the MENU
(page 21).

Note

This function does not work in the United Kingdom
and in some other areas.

Local Link function
(United Kingdom only)

This function enables you to select other local
stations in the area, even if they are not stored on
your number buttons.

1 Press a number button (CD to ©)
that has a local station stored on it.

2 Within 5 seconds, press the number
button of the local station again.

3 Repeat this procedure until the
desired local station is received.

Receiving traffic
announcements

- TA/TP

By activating the Traffic Announcement (TA)
and Traffic Programme (TP), you can
automatically tune in an FM station broadcasting
traffic announcements. These settings function
regardless of the current FM programme/source,
CD/MD; the unit switches back to the original
source when the bulletin is over.

Press Cta) repeatedly until “TA-ON”
appears.

The unit starts searching for traffic
information stations.

"TP” indicates reception of such stations, and
“TA” flashes during an actual traffic
announcement. The unit will continue
searching for stations available with TP if
"NO TP" is indicated.

To cancel all traffic announcements, select “TA-
OFF.”

Tip

You can also cancel the current announcement by
pressing ( source) or (mode).

Presetting the volume of traffic
announcements

You can preset the volume level of the traffic
announcements so you won’t miss hearing them.

1 Turn the volume control dial to adjust
the desired volume level.

2 Press (ta) for 2 seconds.

"TA” appears and the setting is stored.

Receiving emergency announcements

If either AF or TA is on, the unit will switch to
emergency announcements, if one comes in
while listening to an FM station or CD/MD.

Presetting RDS stations with
AF and TA setting

When you preset RDS stations, the unit stores
each station’s AF/TA setting (on/off) as well as
its frequency. You can select a different setting
(for AF, TA, or both) for individual preset
stations, or the same setting for all preset
stations. If you preset stations with "AF-ON," the
unit automatically stores stations with the
strongest radio signal.

Presetting the same setting for all
preset stations

1 Select an FM band (page 13).

2 Press (af) and/or (ta) to select “AF-
ON” and/or “TA-ON.”

Note that selecting “AF-OFF” or “TA-OFF”
stores not only RDS stations, but also non-
RDS stations.

3 Press (menu) , then press either side
of ( disc/preset) repeatedly until
“BTM” appears.

4 Press ( enter ) until “BTM” flashes.

Presetting different settings for each
preset station

1 Select an FM band, and tune in the
desired station (page 14).

2 Press (af) and/or (ta) to select “AF-
ON” and/or “TA-ON.”

3 Press the desired number button ((T)
to ©) until “MEM” appears.

Repeat from step 1 to preset other stations.

You can tune in a station by selecting the type of
programme you would like to listen to.

Using the rotary commander

Changing the operative direction

The operative direction of controls is factory-set
as shown below.

If you need to mount the rotary commander on
the right hand side of the steering column, you
can reverse the operative direction.

Press ( sound ) for 2 seconds while
pushing the VOL control.

Tip

You can also change the operative direction of these
controls with the unit (see “Changing the sound and
display settings" on page 21).

Adjusting the sound
characteristics

You can adjust the bass, treble, balance, and
fader.

The bass and treble levels can be stored
independently for each source.

1 Select the item you want to adjust by
pressing ( sound ) repeatedly.

Each time you press ( SOUND) , the item
changes as follows:

BAS"(bass) -» TRE (treble) -* BAL
(left-right) —► FAD (front-rear)

2 Adjust the selected item by pressing
either side of (seek) .

When adjusting with the rotary commander,
press ( SOUND ) and rotate the VOL control.

Note

Adjust within 3 seconds after selecting the item.

Quickly attenuating the
sound

(With the rotary commander or the card
remote commander)

Press ( att) on the rotary commander
or card remote commander.

After “ATT-ON” momentarily appears, the
‘ATT" appears in the display.

To restore the previous volume level, press
(ATT) again.

Tip

When the interface cable of a car telephone is
connected to the ATT lead, the unit decreases the
volume automatically when a telephone call comes in
(Telephone ATT function).

Changing the sound and
display settings

— Menu

The following items can be set:

SET (Set Up)

• CLOCK (page 8)

• CT (Clock Time) (page 18)

• BEEP — to turn the beeps on or off.

• RM (Rotary Commander) — to change the
operative direction of the controls of the rotary
commander.

- Select “NORM” to use the rotary commander
as the factory-set position.

- Select “REV” when you mount the rotary
commander on the right side of the steering
column.

DSPL (Display)

• D.INFO (Dual Information) — to display the
clock and the play mode at the same time (on).

• AMBER/GREEN — to change the
illumination colour to amber or green (MDX-
CA680 only).

• M.DSPL (Motion Display) — to select the
Motion Display mode from “1,” “2," and
“OFF.”

- Select “1” to show decoration lines in the
display and activate Demo display.

- Select “2” to show decoration lines in the
display and deactivate Demo display.

- Select “OFF” to deactivate the Motion
Display.

• A.SCRL (Auto Scroll)

- Select “ON” to scroll all automatically
displayed names exceeding 8 characters.

- When Auto scroll is set to off and the disc/
track name is changed, the disc/track name
does not scroll.

P/M (Play Mode)

• LOCAL-ON/OFF (Local seek mode) (page 13)

- Select “ON” to only tune into stations with
stronger signals.

• MONO-ON/OFF (Monaural mode) (page 13)

- Select “ON” to hear FM stereo broadcast in
monaural. Select “OFF” to return to normal
mode.

• REG-ON/OFF (Regional) (page 16)

1 Press (menu) .

To set A.SCRL, press ( MENU ) during CD/
MD Playback.

2 Press either side of ( disc/preset )
repeatedly until the desired item
appears.

3 Press the (+) side of (seek) to select
the desired setting (Example: ON or
OFF).

4 Press (ENTER) .

After the mode setting is completed, the
display returns to normal play mode.

The displayed item will differ depending on the source.

Tip

You can easily switch among categories (“SET,"
“DSPL," “P/M, ” and “EDIT") by pressing either side of
( disc/preset ) for 2 seconds.

Selecting the sound position

— My Best sound Position (MBP)

When you drive without passengers, you can
enjoy the most comfortable sound environment
with “My Best sound Position."

"My Best sound Position" has two presets, which
adjust the sound level of balance and fader. You
can select one very easily with the MBP button.

Press (mbp) repeatedly for the desired
listening position.

The mode of "My Best sound Position” is
shown in the display in order of the table.

After one second, the display goes back to the
normal playback mode.

If you want to adjust the sound level of
balance and fader more precisely, you can do
it using the ( SOUND ) (see “Adjusting the
sound characteristics” on page 20).

Notes

• When the BAL (balance) or FAD (fader) in “Adjusting
the sound characteristics" (page 20) is adjusted, the
MBP setting returns to OFF.

• When MBP is set to OFF, the BAL and FAD setting is
activated.

Boosting the bass sound

— D-bass

You can enjoy a clear and powerful bass sound.
The D-bass function boosts the low frequency
signal and high frequency signal with a sharper
curve than conventional bass boost.

You can hear the bass line more clearly even
while the vocal volume remains the same. You
can emphasize and adjust the bass sound easily
with the D-BASS button.

Press ( d-bass ) repeatedly to select
the desired bass curve.

As the D-BASS number increases so does the
effect.

Note

The bass sound may distort at same volume. If the
bass sound distorts, select less effective bass curve.

Maintenance

Fuse replacement

When replacing the fuse, be sure to use one
matching the amperage rating stated on the
original fuse. If the fuse blows, check the power
connection and replace the fuse. If the fuse blows
again after replacement, there may be an internal
malfunction. In such a case, consult your nearest
Sony dealer.

Warning

Never use a fuse with an amperage rating
exceeding the one supplied with the unit as this
could damage the unit.

Cleaning the connectors

The unit may not function properly if the
connectors between the unit and the front panel
are not clean. In order to prevent this, detach the
front panel (page 7) and clean the connectors
with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. Do not
apply too much force. Otherwise, the connectors
may be damaged.

Notes

• For safety, turn off the ignition before cleaning the
connectors, and remove the key from the ignition
switch.

• Never touch the connectors directly with your fingers
or with any metal device.

Replacing the lithium battery

Under normal conditions, batteries will last
approximately 1 year. (The service life may be
shorter, depending on the conditions of use.)
When the battery becomes weak, the range of the
card remote commander becomes shorter.
Replace the battery with a new CR2025 lithium
battery.

Notes on lithium battery

• Keep the lithium battery out of the reach of
children. Should the battery be swallowed,
immediately consult a doctor.

• Wipe the battery with a dry cloth to assure a
good contact.

• Be sure to observe the correct polarity when
installing the battery.

• Do not hold the battery with metallic tweezers,
otherwise a short-circuit may occur.

Do not recharge, disassemble, or dispose of
in fire.

1 Remove the front cover

©Press the clip inside the front cover
with a thin screwdriver.

©Repeat step © for the other side.

2 Remove the unit

©Use a thin screwdriver to push in
the clip on the left side of the unit,
then pull out the left side of the unit
until the catch clears the mounting.

©Repeat step © for the right side.
©Slide the unit out of its mounting.

Troubleshooting

The following checklist will help you remedy
problems you may encounter with your unit.
Before going through the checklist below, check
the connection and operating procedures.

General
No sound.

• Rotate the volume control dial clockwise to
adjust the volume.

• Cancel the ATT function.

• Set the fader control to the centre position for
a 2-speaker system.

The message “LP” appears in the display.
MDLP tracks cannot be played back.

An optional MD unit does not conform to
MDLP playback.

—>Use this unit to playback the MDLP tracks.

The contents of the memory have been
erased.

• The RESET button has been pressed.

—► Store again into the memory.

• The power cord or battery has been
disconnected.

• The power connecting cord is not connected
properly.

No beep sound.

The beep sound is cancelled (page 21).

Indications disappear from/do not appear in
the display.

• The clock display disappears if you press
( OFF) for 2 seconds.

—► Press ( OFF) again for 2 seconds to
display the clock.

• Remove the front panel and clean the
connectors. See “Cleaning the connectors”
(page 23) for details.

Stored stations and correct time are erased.
The fuse has blown.

Makes noise when the ignition key is in the
ON, ACC, or OFF position.

The leads are not matched correctly with the
car’s accessory power connector.

• Check the connection. If everything is in

• The car does not have an ACC position.

• Store the correct frequency in the memory.

• The broadcast signal is too weak.

The stations cannot be received.

The sound is hampered by noises.

• Connect a power aerial control lead (blue) or
accessory power supply lead (red) to the
power supply lead of a car’s aerial booster.
(Only when your car has built-in FM/MW/
LW aerial in the rear/side glass.)

• Check the connection of the car aerial.

• The auto aerial will not go up.

—► Check the connection of the power aerial
control lead.

• Check the frequency.

Automatic tuning is not possible.

• The local seek mode is set to “ON.”

—► Set the local seek mode to “OFF” (page
21 ).

• The broadcast signal is too weak.

—► Perform manual tuning.

The “ST” indication flashes.

• Tune in the frequency accurately.

• The broadcast signal is too weak.

—► Set to the monaural reception mode (page

21 ).

A programme broadcast in stereo is heard
in monaural.

The unit is in monaural reception mode.

The SEEK starts after a few seconds of

Hinweis

Wenn Sie das Geratausschalten, indem Sie ( off)

2 Sekunden tang drucken, kdnnen Sie es nicht mit der

SicherheitsmaBnahmen

• Wenn das Fahrzeug langere Zeit in direktem
Sonnenlicht geparkt war, lassen Sie das Gerat
etwas abkiihlen, bevor Sie es einschalten.

• Motorantennen werden automatisch
ausgefahren, wenn das Gerat in Betrieb ist.

Sollten an Ihrem Gerat Probleme auftreten oder
sollten Sie Fragen haben, auf die in dieser
Anleitung nicht eingegangen wird, wenden Sie
sich bitte an Ihren Sony-Handler.

Feuchtigkeitskondensation

Bei Regen oder bei sehr hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit
kann sich auf den Linsen im Inneren des Gerats
und im Display Feuchtigkeit niederschlagen. In
diesem Fall funktioniert das Gerat nicht mehr
richtig. Nehmen Sie die CD/MD heraus, und
warten Sie etwa eine Stunde, bis die Feuchtigkeit
verdunstet ist.

So bewahren Sie die hohe Tonqualitat

Achten Sie darauf, keine Safte oder andere
zuckerhaltige Getranke auf das Gerat oder die
CDs/MDs zu verschiitten.

Hinweise zu MDs

• Offnen Sie nicht den Schutzschieber
des MD-Gehauses. Andernfalls ist der
Datentrager ungeschiitzt. SchlieRen Sie
den Schutzschieber sofort, wenn er
geoffnet sein sollte.

• Beriihren Sie auf keinen Fall die Oberflache
des Datentragers im Inneren.

• Schiitzen Sie MDs vor Hitze bzw. hohen
Temperaturen. Lassen Sie sie nicht in

Hinweise zum Anbringen von Etiketten

Beachten Sie bitte folgendes, damit MDs nicht
im Gerat steckenbleiben:

- Bringen Sie das Etikett an einer geeigneten
Stelle an.

- Entfemen Sie alte Etiketten, bevor Sie neue
anbringen.

- Tauschen Sie Etiketten aus, die sich ablosen.

Reinigung

Reinigen Sie die Oberflache des Gehauses ab
und zu mit einem weichen, trockenen Tuch.

Vorbereitungen

Zurucksetzen des Gerats

Bevor Sie das Gerat zum ersten Mai benutzen
oder wenn Sie die Autobatterie ausgetauscht
haben, milssen Sie das Gerat zurucksetzen.
Nehmen Sie die Frontplatte ab, und driicken Sie
die Taste RESET mit einem spitzen Gegenstand.
wie z. B. einem Kugelschreiber.

Taste RESET

Hinweis

Wenn Sie die Taste RESET driicken, werden die
eingestellte Uhrzeit und einige weitere gespeicherte
Einstellungen geldscht.

Abnehmen der Frontplatte

Urn einem Diebstahl des Gerats vorzubeugen.
kann die Frontplatte abgenommen werden.

Warnton

Wenn Sie den Ziindschliissel in die Position OFF
stellen, ohne die Frontplatte abzunehmen, ertont
einige Sekunden lang ein Warnton.

Wenn Sie einen gesondert erhaltlichen Verstarker
anschlieBen und den integrierten Verstarker nicht
benutzen, wird der Signalton deaktiviert.

1 Driicken Sie (off) *.

Die MD/CD-Wiedergabe bzw. der
Radioempfang wird beendet. Die
Tastenbeleuchtung und das Display bleiben
eingeschaltet.

* Wenn I hr Fahrzeug nicht fiber ein Ziindschloli
mit Zubehorposition (ACC Oder I) verfiigt, halten
Sie unbedingt2Sekunden lang (off) gedriickt,
um das Gerat vollstandig auszuschaiten.
Andernfalls wird der Autobatterie weiterhin
Strom entzogen.

2 Driicken Sie (open), schieben Sie
dann die Frontplatte nach rechts, und
ziehen Sie sie an der linken Seite
vorsichtig heraus.

Hinweise

• Wenn Sie die Frontplatte bei eingeschaltetem Gerat
abnehmen, schaltetsich das Gerat automatisch aus,
um eine Beschadigung der Lautsprecher zu
vermeiden.

• Lassen Sie die Frontplatte nicht fallen, und driicken
Sie nicht zu stark auf die Frontplatte und das
Display.

• Schiitzen Sie die Frontplatte vor Hitze bzw. hohen
Temperaturen und vor Feuchtigkeit. Lassen Sie sie
nicht in geparkten Autos, auf dem Armaturenbrett
Oder auf der Hutablage liegen.

Tip

Bewahren Sie die Frontplatte im mitgelieferten

Behalter auf, wenn Sie sie bei sich tragen.

Setzen Sie die Aussparung ® an der Frontplatte
am Stift (D am Gerat an, und driicken Sie dann
die linke Seite behutsam hinein.

Driicken Sie ( SOURCE ) . bzw. legen Sie eine
MD ein, um das Gerat einzuschalten.

CD/M D-Ge rat

Sie konnen mit diesem Gerat nicht nur MDs
wiedergeben, sondern auch externe CD/MD-
Gerate steuern.

Wenn Sie ein gesondert erhaltliches CD-Gerat mit CD
TEXT-Funktion anschlieRen, erscheinen bei der
Wiedergabe einer CD mit CD TEXT die CD TEXT-
Informationen im Display.

Wiedergeben einer CD/MD

Mit diesem Gerat:

1 Driicken Sie ( open) , und legen Sie
eine MD mit der beschrifteten Seite
nach oben ein.

2 SchlieBen Sie die Frontplatte.

Die Wiedergabe beginnt automatisch.

Wenn bereits eine MD eingelegt ist, driicken Sie

Wiederholtes Wiedergeben
von Titeln

— Repeat Play

Ein Titel oder alle Titel auf der CD/MD im
Hauptgerat werden automatisch wiederholt
wiedergegeben, wenn das Ende erreicht ist. Sie
haben folgende Moglichkeiten fur die
wiederholte Wiedergabe:

• REP-1 — zum wiederholten Wiedergeben
eines Titels.

• REP-2* — zum wiederholten Wiedergeben
einer CD/MD.

• Nur verfugbar, wenn mindestens ein gesondert
erhaltliches CD/MD-Gerat angeschiossen ist.

Drucken Sie wahrend der Wiedergabe
® (REP) so oft, bis die gewunschte
Einstellung im Display erscheint.

Repeat Play beginnt.

Wenn Sie wieder in den normalen
Wiedergabemodus schalten mochten, wahlen Sie
„REP-OFF“.

Wiedergeben von Titeln in
willkurlicher Reihenfolge

— Shuffle Play

Sie haben folgende Moglichkeiten:

• SHUF-1 — zum Wiedergeben der Titel auf der
aktuellen CD/MD in willkurlicher Reihenfolge.

• SHUF-2* 1 — zum Wiedergeben der Titel im
aktuellen gesondert erhaltlichen CD/MD-Gerat
in willkurlicher Reihenfolge.

• SHUF-ALL* 2 — zum Wiedergeben aller Titel
in alien angeschlossenen CD/MD-Geraten
(einschlieBlich dieses Gerats) in willkurlicher
Reihenfolge.

• 1 Nur verfugbar, wenn mindestens ein gesondert

erhaltliches CD/MD-Gerat angeschiossen ist.

*2 Nur verfugbar, wenn mindestens ein gesondert

Benennen einer CD

— Disc Memo (bei einem CD-Gerat mit
CUSTOM FILE-Funktion)

Sie konnen fiir jede CD einen individuellen
Namen speichern (Disc Memo). Sie konnen pro
CD bis zu 8 Zeichen eingeben. Wenn Sie einen
Namen fur eine CD eingeben, konnen Sie die CD
anhand des Namens ansteuem (Seite 12).

1 Starten Sie die Wiedergabe der CD, fiir
die Sie einen Namen eingeben wollen.

2 Drucken Sie C menu ) . und drucken Sie

Benennen einer CD zu beginnen: Halten Sie ( list )
2 Sekunden lang gedruckt, statt Schritt 2 und 3
auszufuhren. Sie konnen das Benennen auch
abschlietien, indem Sie ( list ) 2 Sekunden lang
gedruckt halten, statt Schritt 5 auszufuhren.

• Sie konnen CDs in einem Gerat ohne CUSTOM
FILE-Funktion benennen, wenn dieses in
Kombination mit einem CD-Gerat angeschlossen ist,
das uber diese Funktion verfugt. Das Disc Memo
wird in diesem Fall in dem CD-Gerat mit CUSTOM
FILE-Funktion gespeichert.

Loschen des Disc Memo

1 Driicken Sie mehrmals (source ), um

• BANK-INV (Inverse) — Alle Titel mit der
Einstellung „SKIP" werden wiedergegeben.

1 Drucken Sie wahrend der Wiedergabe

(DISC/PRESET) SO Oft, bis „BANK-ON“,

Die Wiedergabe startet ab dem Titel nach
dem aktuellen Titel.

Wenn Sie wieder in den normalen
Wiedergabemodus schalten mochten, wahlen Sie
in Schritt 2 „BANK-OFF“.

Radio

Fur jeden Frequenzbereich (FM1, FM2, FM3,
MW und LW) konnen Sie bis zu 6 Sender
speichern.

Vorsicht

Wenn Sie wiihrend der Fahrt Sender einstellen,
sollten Sie die BTM-Funktion verwenden.
Andernfalls besteht Unfallgefahr.

Automatisches Speichern
von Radiosendern

— BTM-Funktion (Best Tuning Memory -
Speicherbelegungsautomatik)

Das Gerat wahlt im ausgewahlten
Frequenzbereich die Sender mit den starksten
Signalen aus und speichert diese in der
Reihenfolge ihrer Frequenzen.

1 Driicken Sie mehrmals (source ), um
das Radio auszuwahlen.

2 Driicken Sie mehrmals ( mode ) . um
den Frequenzbereich auszuwahlen.

3 Driicken Sie ( menu ) . und driicken Sie
anschlieBend eine Seite von

( DISC/PRESET) SO Oft, bis „BTM“
erscheint.

4 Driicken Sie (enter) .

Ein Signalton ist zu horen, und die
Einstellung wird gespeichert.

Hinweise

• Wenn aufgrund schwacher Signale nur wenige
Sender in guter Qualitat zu empfangen sind, bleiben
auf einigen Stationstasten die vorher gespeicherten
Sender erhalten.

• Wird im Display eine Nummer angezeigt, beginnt
das Gerat beim Speichern von Sendern mit der
angezeigten Nummer.

Einstellen gespeicherter
Sender

1 Driicken Sie mehrmals (source ), um
das Radio auszuwahlen.

2 Driicken Sie mehrmals ( mode) , um
den Frequenzbereich auszuwahlen.

3 Driicken Sie die Stationstaste (CD bis
©), auf der der gewiinschte Sender
gespeichert ist.

Tip

Driicken Sie eine Seite von ( disc/preset ) , um die
Sender in der gespeicherten Reihenfolge zu
empfangen (Senderspeichersuchfunktion).

Wenn das Einstellen gespeicherter
Sender nicht funktioniert

Driicken Sie eine Seite von ( seek) , um
den Sender zu suchen (automatischer
Sendersuchlauf).

Der Suchlauf stoppt, wenn ein Sender
empfangen wird. Wiederholen Sie diesen
Vorgang, bis das Gerat den gewiinschten
Sender empfangt.

Tips

• Wenn der automatische Sendersuchlauf zu oft
stoppt, aktivieren Sie den lokalen Suchmodus, so
dafi die Suche auf Sender mit starkeren Signalen
beschrankt wird (siehe „ Wechseln der Klang- und
Anzeigeeinstellungen“ auf Seite 21).

• Wenn Sie die Frequenz des gewiinschten Senders
kennen, halten Sie eine Seite von (seek) gedriickt,
bis die Frequenz in etwa erreicht ist, und driicken
Sie ( seek) dann so oft, bis die gewiinschte
Frequenz genau eingestellt ist (manuelle
Sendersuche).

Bei schlechtem UKW-Stereoempfang

Wahlen Sie den monauralen
Empfangsmodus

(siehe ..Wechseln der Klang- und
Anzeigeeinstellungen 11 auf Seite 21). Die
Tonqualitat wird dadurch besser, der Ton wird
zugleich aber monaural (die Anzeige „ST“
wird ausgeblendet).

Speichern bestimmter
Radiosender

Sie konnen die gewunschten Sender manuell
unter einer beliebigen Stationstaste speichern.

1 Drucken Sie mehrmals (source) , um
das Radio auszuwahlen.

2 Drucken Sie mehrmals ( mode ) . um
den Frequenzbereich auszuwahlen.

3 Drucken Sie eine Seite von ( seek) , um
den Sender einzustellen, den Sie
speichern wollen.

4 Drucken Sie 2 Sekunden lang die
gewiinschte Stationstaste ((T) bis
©), bis „MEM“ erscheint.

Die Stationstastenanzeige erscheint im
Display.

Hinweis

Wenn Sie auf der gleichen Stationstaste einen
anderen Sender speichern, wird der zuvor
gespeicherte Sender geldscht.

Einstellen eines Senders
anhand einer Liste

Automatisches Neueinsteilen
von Sendern fur optimale
Empfangsqualitat

— AF-Funktion

Mit der AF-Funktion (Altemativfrequenzen)
wird fur den Sender, den Sie gerade horen,
automatisch die Frequenz mit den starksten
Sendesignalen eingestellt.

Die Frequenzen werden also automatisch
aewechselt.

1 Wahlen Sie einen UKW-Sender aus
(Seite 13).

2 Driicken Sie (~af) so oft, bis „AF-ON“
angezeigt wird.

Das Gerat beginnt. im selben Netzwerk nach
einer Alternativfrequenz mit starkeren
Signalen zu suchen.

Wenn „NO AF“ blinkt, gibt es fur den gerade
eingestellten Sender keine
Alternativfrequenz.

Hinweis

Wenn im Sendebereich keine Altemativfrequenzen
vorhanden sind Oder Sie nicht nach einem
Alternativsender zu suchen brauchen, schalten Sie
die AF-Funktion aus, indem Sie „AF-OFF“ auswahlen.

Bei Sendern ohne
Alternativfrequenzen

Driicken Sie eine Seite von (seek) .
wahrend der Sendername blinkt (ca.

8 Sekunden lang).

Das Gerat beginnt dann mit der Suche nach
einer Frequenz mit denselben PI-Daten
(Programme Identification -
Programmkennung). „PI SEEK“ wird
angezeigt.

Wenn das Gerat keine Frequenz mit
denselben PI-Daten finden kann, wechselt das
Gerat kehrt wieder zur zuvor eingestellten
Frequenz zurtick.

Unveranderter Empfang eines
Regionalsenders

Wenn die AF-Funktion aktiviert ist, wird der
Empfang dieses Gerats werkseitig auf eine
bestimmte Region beschrankt, so dab nicht zu
einem anderen Regionalsender mit einer
starkeren Frequenz gewechselt wird.

Wenn Sie den Empfangsbereich dieses
Regionalprogramms verlassen oder lieber die
gesamte AF-Funktion nutzen wollen, wiihlen Sie
„REG-OFF" aus dem Menu (Seite 21).

Hinweis

Diese Funktion steht in GroEbritannien und in einigen
anderen Regionen nicht zur Verfugung.

Lokalsenderfunktion
(nur Groftbritannien)

Mit Hilfe dieser Funktion konnen Sie andere
Lokalsender auswahlen, auch wenn diese zuvor
nicht unter einer Stationstaste gespeichert
wurden.

1 Driicken Sie eine der Stationstasten
((T) bis ©), auf der ein Lokalsender
gespeichert ist.

2 Driicken Sie innerhalb von 5 Sekunden
erneut die Stationstaste des
Lokalsenders.

3 Wiederholen Sie diesen Vorgang, bis
das Gerat den gewiinschten
Lokalsender empfangt.

Empfangen von
Verkehrsdurchsagen

- TA/TP

Wenn Sie die TA- (Traffic Announcement -
Verkehrsdurchsagen) und die TP-Funktion
(Traffic Programme - Verkehrsfunk) aktivieren,
konnen Sie automatisch einen UKW-Sender
einstellen, der Verkehrsdurchsagen ausstrahlt.
Dabei ist es unerheblich, welches UKW-
Programm bzw. welche Tonquelle (CD oder MD)
Sie gerade horen. Das Gerat wechselt nach der
Durchsage zuriick zur vorherigen Tonquelle.

Driicken Sie (ta) so oft, bis „TA-ON“
angezeigt wird.

Das Gerat beginnt, nach Verkehrsfunksendern
zu suchen.

..TP" zeigt an, dab ein solcher Sender
empfangen wird, und „TA“ blinkt wahrend
einer Verkehrsdurchsage. Das Gerat setzt die
Suche nach Verkehrsfunksendern fort, wenn
„NO TP" angezeigt wird.

Wenn Sie alle Verkehrsdurchsagen ausschalten
wollen, wahlen Sie „TA-OFF“.

Verkehrsdurchsagen voreinstellen, so dab Sie sie
nicht tiberhoren.

1 Stellen Sie mit dem Lautstarkeregler
die gewiinschte Lautstarke ein.

2 Driicken Sie 2 Sekunden lang (ta) .

„TA“ erscheint, und die Einstellung wird
gespeichert.

Empfangen von
Katastrophenwarnungen

Wenn die AF- oder die TA-Funktion aktiviert ist
und wahrend des Empfangs eines UKW-Senders
oder der Wiedergabe einer CD/MD eine
Katastrophenwarnung ausgestraht wird, wechselt
das Gerat automatisch zur Katastrophenwarnung.

Speichern von RDS-Sendern
zusammen mit der AF- und
TA-Einstellung

Wenn Sie RDS-Sender speichern, speichert das
Gerat zusammen mit der Frequenz auch die AF-/
TA-Einstellung (on/off) fur jeden Sender. Sie
konnen fur die einzelnen gespeicherten Sender
unterschiedliche Einstellungen (AF, TA oder
beides) oder ftir alle gespeicherten Sender
dieselbe Einstellung wahlen. Wenn Sie Sender
mit „AF-ON“ speichern, werden automatisch die
Sender mit den starksten Radiosignalen
gespeichert.

Automatisches Einstellen der
Uhr

- CT

Mit den CT-Daten (Clock Time - Uhrzeit), die
von RDS-Sendern ausgestrahlt werden, laBt sich
die Uhr automatisch einstellen.

1 Drucken Sie wahrend des

Radioempfangs ( menu ) . und drucken
Sie anschliefiend eine Seite von
(disc/preset) so oft, bis „CT-OFF“
erscheint.

2 Drucken Sie die Seite (+) von ( seek)
so oft, bis „CT-ON“ erscheint.

Die Uhr wird eingestellt.

3 Schalten Sie mit ( enter ) zur
normalen Anzeige zuruck.

Wenn Sie die CT-Funktion deaktivieren wollen,
wahlen Sie in Schritt 2 „CT-OFF“.

• Die CT-Funktion steht moglicherweise nicht zur
Verfugung, auch wenn ein RDS-Sender empfangen

Wechseln der Drehrichtung

Die Drehrichtung der Regler ist werkseitig wie in
der folgenden Abbildung zu sehen eingestellt.

Wenn Sie den Joystick rechts von der Lenksaule
anbringen, konnen Sie die Drehrichtung der
Regler andem.

Halten Sie den Regler VOL gedruckt,
und driicken Sie (sound) 2 Sekunden
lang.

Tip

Sie konnen die Drehrichtung der Regler auch mit dem
Gerat andern (siehe „ Wechseln der Klang- und
Anzeigeeinstellungen" auf Seite 21).

Einstellen der
Klangeigenschaften

Sie konnen die Basse, die Hohen, die Balance
und den Fader einstellen.

Die Einstellungen fur Basse und Hohen konnen
getrennt fur jede Tonquelle gespeichert werden.

1 Wahlen Sie die einzustellende Option
aus, indem Sie ( sound ) wiederholt
driicken.

Mit jedem Tastendruck auf ( SOUND )
wechselt die Anzeige folgendermaBen:

BAS (Basse) -*• TRE (Hohen) — BAL
(links-rechts) —► FAD (vorne-hinten)

2 Stellen Sie die ausgewahlte Option
ein, indem Sie eine Seite von ( seek)
driicken.

Beim Einstellen mit dem Joystick driicken Sie
(SOUND ) und drehen am Regler VOL.
Hinweis

Nachdem Sie eine Klangoption ausgewahit haben,
mussen Sie innerhalb von 3 Sekunden den
Einstellvorgang beginnen.

Schnelles Dampfen des Tons

(mit dem Joystick oder der
Kartenfernbedienung)

Driicken Sie ( att) auf dem Joystick
Oder der Kartenfernbedienung.

„ATT-ON" erscheint kurz im Display, und
danach wird „ATT“ angezeigt.

Wenn Sie wieder die vorherige Lautstarke
einstellen wollen, driicken Sie erneut ( ATT) .

Tip

Wenn das Schnittstellenkabel eines Autotelefons mit
der ATT-Leitung verbunden ist und ein Telefonanruf
eingeht, senkt das Gerat die Lautstarke automatisch
(Stummschaittunktion zum Telefonieren).

Wechseln der Klang- und
Anzeigeeinstellungen

— Menu

Sie konnen folgende Optionen einstellen:

SET (Konfiguration)

• CLOCK (Uhrzeit) (Seite 8)

• CT-Daten (Uhrzeit) (Seite 18)

• BEEP — Dient zum Ein- oder Ausschalten des
Signaltons.

• RM (Joystick) — Dient zum Wechseln der
Drehrichtung der Regler am Joystick.

- Wahlen Sie „NORM“, wenn die werkseitig
voreingestellte Drehrichtung der Regler
beibehalten werden soli.

- Wahlen Sie „REV“, wenn Sie den Joystick
auf der rechten Seite der Lenksaule
anbringen.

DSPL (Display)

• D.INFO (Dual Information) — Uhrzeit und
Wiedergabemodus werden gleichzeitig
angezeigt (ON).

• AMBER/GREEN — Sie konnen die
Beleuchtungsfarbe zwischen gelb und grlin
umschalten (nur MDX-CA680).

• M.DSPL (Motion Display = Bewegte Anzeige)

- Dient zum Auswahlen des Modus fur die
bewegte Anzeige („1“, „2“ oder „OFF“).

- Wenn Sie „1“ wahlen, werden im Display
Dekorationslinien angezeigt und die Demo-
Anzeige aktiviert.

- Wenn Sie „2“ wahlen, werden im Display
Dekorationslinien angezeigt und die Demo-
Anzeige deaktiviert.

- Mit „OFF“ wird die bewegte Anzeige
deaktiviert.

• A.SCRL (Auto Scroll)

- Wenn Sie „ON" wahlen, laufen alle
angezeigten Namen mit mehr als 8 Zeichen
automatisch im Display durch und werden
auf diese Weise ganz angezeigt.

- Wenn die Funktion Auto Scroll auf OFF
gesetzt ist und der Name der CD/MD bzw.
des Titels wechselt, lauft der Name nicht im
Display durch und wird daher nicht ganz
angezeigt.

P/M (Wiedergabemodus)

• LOCAL-ON/OFF (lokaler Suchmodus) (Seite
13)

- Wahlen Sie „ON“, wenn Sie nur Sender mit
starken Signalen einstellen wollen.

• MONO-ON/OFF (monauraler Modus) (Seite
13)

- Wenn Sie „ON" wahlen, werden UKW-
Stereosender monaural wiedergegeben. Mit
„OFF“ schalten Sie in den normalen Modus
zuriick.

• REG-ON/OFF (Regional) (Seite 16)

1 Driicken Sie (menu) .

Zum Einstellen von A.SCRL driicken Sie
( MENU ) wahrend der Wiedergabe einer CD/
MD.

2 Driicken Sie eine Seite von

( disc/preset) so oft, bis die
gewiinschte Option erscheint.

3 Wahlen Sie mit der Seite (+) von

( seek ) die gewiinschte Einstellung
aus (z. B. ON oder OFF).

4 Driicken Sie (enter) .

Wenn Sie die Einstellung vorgenommen
haben, erscheint im Display wieder die
Anzeige fur den normalen Wiedergabemodus.

Hinweis

Je nach aktueller Programmquelle werden
unterschiedliche Optionen angezeigt.

Tip

Sie konnen problemlos zwischen den Kategorien
(„SET“, „DSPL“, „P/M“ und ..EDIT") wechseln, indem
Sie eine Seite von ( disc/preset) 2 Sekunden lang
gedruckt halten.

Auswahlen der Klangposition

— Beste Klangposition (MBP)

Wenn Sie alleine im Auto sitzen, konnen Sie mit
„Beste Klangposition' 1 eine optimale
Klangumgebung einstellen.

Fiir „Beste Klangposition" gibt es zwei
Voreinstellungen fiir den Tonpegel von Balance
und Fader. Mit der Taste MBP konnen Sie
miihelos eine davon auswahlen.

Driicken Sie ( mbp ) so oft, bis die
gewiinschte Horposition erscheint.

Der Modus von „Beste Klangposition"
erscheint im Display in derselben
Reihenfolge wie in der Tabelle.

Nach einer Sekunde erscheint im Display
wieder die Anzeige fiir den normalen
Wiedergabemodus.

Wenn Sie den Tonpegel von Balance und
Fader genauer einstellen wollen, konnen Sie
dazu die Taste ( SOUND) verwenden (siehe
„Einstellen der Klangeigenschaften" auf Seite
20 ).

Hinweise

• Wenn Sie Balance (BAL) Oder Fader (FAD) wie
unter ..Einstellen der Klangeigenschaften“ (Seite 20)
erlautert einstellen, wird die Einstellung von MBP
wieder auf OFF gesetzt.

• Wenn MBP auf OFF gesetzt wird, werden die
Einstellungen von BAL und FAD aktiviert.

Verstarken der Basse

— D-bass

Sie konnen die Basse klarer und kraftiger
wiedergeben lassen. Mit der D-bass-Funktion
konnen Sie die tiefen und die hohen Frequenzen
mit einer Kurve verstarken, die steiler ist als bei
konventionellen BaBbetonungssystemen.

Sie konnen mit dieser Funktion die Basse starker
betonen, ohne daB sich an der Wiedergabe der
Singstimmen etwas andert. Mit der Taste D-
BASS konnen Sie die Basse problemlos
verstarken und einstellen.

Frequenz (Hz)

Einstellen der BaBkurve

Driicken Sie mehrmals ( d-bass ) . um
die gewiinschte BaBkurve
auszuwahlen.

Je niedriger der D-BASS-Wert, desto geringer
der Effekt.

Hinweis

Die Basse konnen bei hoherer Lautstarke verzerrt
sein. Wenn die Basse verzerrt sind, wahlen Sie eine
weniger effektive BaOkurve.

Wartung

Austauschen der Sicherung

Wenn Sie eine Sicherung austauschen, achten Sie
darauf, eine Ersatzsicherung mit dem gleichen
Ampere-Wert wie die Originalsicherung zu
verwenden. Dieser ist auf der Originalsicherung
angegeben. Wenn die Sicherung durchbrennt,
uberpriifen Sie den StromanschluB und tauschen
die Sicherung aus. Brennt die neue Sicherung
ebenfalls durch, kann eine interne Fehlfunktion
vorliegen. Wenden Sie sich in einem solchen Fall
an Ihren Sony-Handler.

Sicherung (10 A)

Achtung

Verwenden Sie unter keinen Umstanden eine
Sicherung mit einem hoheren Ampere-Wert als
dem der Sicherung, die urspriinglich mit dem
Gerat geliefert wurde. Andernfalls kann es zu
Schaden am Gerat kommen.

Reinigen der Anschlusse

Das Gerat funktioniert moglicherweise nicht
ordnungsgemaB, wenn die Anschlusse zwischen
dem Gerat und der Frontplatte verschmutzt sind.
Um dies zu vermeiden, nehrnen Sie die
Frontplatte ab (Seite 7), und reinigen Sie die
Anschlusse mit einem mit Alkohol
angefeuchteten Wattestabchen. Driicken Sie
dabei nicht zu fest auf die Anschlusse.
Andernfalls konnen sie beschadigt werden.

Hinweise

• Schalten Sie aus Sicherheitsgrunden vor dem
Reinigen der Anschlusse die Zundung aus, und
ziehen Sie den Schliissel aus dem Zundschlo3.

• Beruhren Sie die Anschlusse unter keinen
Umstanden direkt mit den Handen Oder einem
Metallgegenstand.

Austauschen der Lithiumbatterie

Unter normalen Bedingungen halten die
Batterien etwa ein Jahr. Die Lebensdauer der
Batterien kann je nach Gebrauch des Gerats
jedoch auch kiirzer sein. Wenn die Batterie
schwacher wird, verkiirzt sich die Reichweite der
Kartenfernbedienung. Tauschen Sie die Batterie
gegen eine neue CR2025-Lithiumbatterie aus.

Mit der Seite + nach oben

Hinweise zur Lithiumbatterie

• Bewahren Sie die Lithiumbatterie auBerhalb
der Reichweite von Kindem auf. Sollte eine
Lithiumbatterie verschluckt werden, ist
umgehend ein Arzt aufzusuchen.

• Wischen Sie die Batterie mit einem trockenen
Tuch ab, um einen guten Kontakt zwischen den
Batteriepolen und -anschliissen sicherzustellen.

• Achten Sie beim Einlegen der Batterie auf die
richtige Polaritat.

• Halten Sie die Batterie nicht mit einer
Metallpinzette. Dies konnte zu einem
KurzschluB ftihren.

Ruckseite der Frontplatte

ACHTUNG

Die Batterie kann bei unsachgemaBem
Umgang explodieren.

Laden Sie sie nicht auf, zerlegen Sie sie nicht,
und werfen Sie sie nicht ins Feuer.

Entsorgungshinweis: Bitte werfen Sie nur
entladene Batterien in die Sammelboxen beim
Handel oder den Kommunen. Entladen sind
Batterien in der Regel dann, wenn das Gerat
abschaltet und „Batterie leer“ signalisiert oder
nach langerer Gebrauchsdauer der Batterien
nicht mehr einwandfrei funktioniert.

Um sicherzugehen, kleben Sie die Batteriepole
z.B. mit einem Klebestreifen ab, oder geben Sie
die Batterien einzeln in einen Plastikbeutel.

Ausbauen des Gerats

1 Nehmen Sie die vordere Abdeckung
ab.

©Nehmen Sie dazu die Frontplatte ab
(Seite 7).

©Drucken Sie mit einem kleinen
Flachschraubenzieher auf die
Federlasche an der Innenseite der
vorderen Abdeckung.

©Gehen Sie wie in Schritt © erlautert
auch an der anderen Seite vor.

2 Nehmen Sie das Gerat heraus.

Federlasche an der linken Seite des
Gerats, und ziehen Sie die linke
Seite heraus, bis sich die Lasche

Storungsbehebung

Anhand der folgenden Checkliste konnen Sie die
meisten Probleme, die moglicherweise an Ihrem
Gerat auftreten, selbst beheben.

Bevor Sie die folgende Checkliste durchgehen,
uberpriifen Sie bitte zunachst, ob Sie das Gerat
richtig angeschlossen und bedient haben.

Allgemeines
Es ist kein Ton zu horen.

• Stellen Sie durch Drehen des
Lautstarkereglers im Uhrzeigersinn die
Lautstarke ein.

• Schalten Sie die ATT-Funktion aus.

• Stellen Sie den Fader-Regler bei einem
Zweilautsprechersystem in die mittlere Position.

Die Meldung „LP“ erscheint im Display.
MDLP-Titel konnen nicht wiedergegeben
werden.

Ein gesondert erhaltliches MD-Gerat
unterstlitzt die MDLP-Wiedergabe nicht.

—► Lassen Sie die MDLP-Titel mit diesem
Gerat wiedergeben.

Der Speicherinhalt wurde geloscht.

• Die Taste RESET wurde gedriickt.

—* Speichern Sie die Einstellungen erneut.

• Das Netzkabel wurde gelost, oder die
Verbindung zur Batterie besteht nicht mehr.

• Das Stromversorgungskabel ist nicht richtig
angeschlossen.

Kein Signalton ertont.

Der Signalton ist deaktiviert (Seite 21).
Anzeigen werden ausgeblendet bzw.
erscheinen nicht im Display.

• Die Uhrzeitanzeige wird ausgeblendet. wenn
Sie 2 Sekunden lang ( OFF ) driicken.

—►Driicken Sie ( OFF) erneut 2 Sekunden
lang, uni die Uhrzeit anzuzeigen.

• Nehmen Sie die Frontplatte ab, und reinigen
Sie die Anschlusse. Einzelheiten dazu finden
Sie unter „Reinigen der Anschliisse“ (Seite 23).

Gespeicherte Sender und die korrekte
Uhrzeit werden geloscht.

Die Sicherung ist durchgebrannt.

Es kommt zu Storgerauschen, wenn sich
der Zundschliissel in der Position EIN, AUS
Oder ACC bzw. I (Zubehorposition) befindet.
Die Leitungen sind nicht korrekt an den
FlilfsstromanschluB im Auto angeschlossen.

Das Gerat wird nicht mit Strom versorgt.

• Uberpriifen Sie die Kabelverbindungen.
Wenn die Anschlusse in Ordnung sind,
uberpriifen Sie die Sicherung.

• Das Auto hat keine Zubehorposition (ACC
bzw. I).

—► Driicken Sie (SOURCE) , bzw. legen Sie eine
CD/MD ein, uni das Gerat einzuschalten.

Das Gerat wird permanent mit Strom versorgt.

Das Auto hat keine Zubehorposition (ACC
bzw. I).

Die Motorantenne wird nicht ausgefahren.

Die Motorantenne hat kein Relaiskastchen.

Die Funktionstasten funktionieren nicht.

Driicken Sie die Taste RESET.

CD/MD-Wiedergabe

Es laBt sich keine MD/CD einlegen.

• Es ist bereits eine MD/CD eingelegt.

• Die MD/CD wird falsch heruni bzw. falsch
eingelegt.

Die Anzeige „-“ laBt sich nicht

ausschalten.

Sie befinden sich im Benennungsmodus.

—►Driicken Sie 2 Sekunden lang ( LIST) .

Die Wiedergabe startet nicht.

• Die MD ist beschadigt. bzw. die CD ist
verschmutzt.

• Die CD-R ist nicht abgeschlossen.

• Sie haben versucht. eine CD-R wiederzugeben,
die nicht als Audio-CD konzipiert ist.

• Einige CD-Rs werden je nach dem Gerat,
mit dem sie bespielt wurden, oder dem
Zustand der CD-R selbst unter Umstanden
nicht wiedergegeben.

Die CD/MD wird automatisch ausgeworfen.

Die Umgebungstemperatur ist hoher als 50 °C.

Aufgrund von Vibrationen kommt es zu

Tonspriingen.

• Das Gerat ist in einem Winkel von mehr als
20° installiert.

• Das Gerat wurde nicht an einem stabilen Teil
des Fahrzeugs installiert.

Tonspriinge treten auf.

Die CD/MD ist schmutzig oder defekt.

Radioempfang

Gespeicherte Sender lassen sich nicht

einstellen.

• Speichern Sie den/die Sender unter der
korrekten Frequenz ab.

• Das Sendesignal ist zu schwach.

Sender lassen sich nicht empfangen.

Der Ton ist stark gestort.

• SchlieBen Sie ein Motorantennen-
Steuerkabel (blau) oder ein
Stromversorgungskabel fur Zubehorgerate
(rot) an das Stromversorgungskabel fur den
Antennenverstarker eines Fahrzeugs an (nur,
wenn das Fahrzeug mit einer in der Heck-/
Seitenfensterscheibe integrierten UKW/
MW/LW-Antenne ausgestattet ist).

• Priifen Sie die Verbindung der Autoantenne.

• Die Autoantenne wird nicht ausgefahren.

—► Priifen Sie die Verbindung des

Motorantennen-Steuerkabels.

• Uberpriifen Sie die Frequenz.

Der automatische Sendersuchlauf
funktioniert nicht.

• Der lokale Sendersuchlauf ist auf „ON“
eingestellt.

—► Setzen Sie den lokalen Suchmodus auf
„OFF“ (Seite 21).

• Das Sendesignal ist zu schwach.

—► Stellen Sie die Sender manuell ein.

Die Anzeige „ST“ blinkt.

• Stellen Sie die Frequenz genau ein.

• Das Sendesignal ist zu schwach.

—► Schalten Sie in den Mono-

Empfangsmodus (Seite 21).

Eine Stereosendung ist nur monaural zu
horen.

Das Gerat ist in den monauralen
Empfangsmodus geschaltet.

—» Beenden Sie den monauralen
Empfangsmodus (Seite 21).

RDS _

Der Sendersuchlauf (SEEK) startet nach ein
paar Sekunden Radioempfang.

Der Sender ist kein Verkehrsfunksender, oder
die Sendesignale sind zu schwach.

—► Driicken Sie (AF) oder (TA) so oft, bis
„AF-OFF“ oder „TA-OFF“ erscheint.

Es sind keine Verkehrsdurchsagen zu
horen.

• Aktivieren Sie „TA“.

• Der Sender sendet keine
Verkehrsdurchsagen, obwohl es sich um
einen TP-Sender handelt.

—► Stellen Sie einen anderen Sender ein.

Bei der PTY-Funktion wird „.“

angezeigt.

• Der aktuelle Sender ist kein RDS-Sender.

• Es wurden keine RDS-Daten empfangen.

• Der Sender gibt den Programmtyp nicht an.

Gerat eingelegt.

—► Setzen Sie ein Magazin in das CD/MD-
Gerat ein.

NOTREADY

Der Deckel des MD-Gerats ist offen, oder die
MDs wurden nicht korrekt eingelegt.

—► SchlieBen Sie den Deckel, bzw. legen Sie
die MDs korrekt ein.

RESET

Das CD/MD-Gerat kann wegen einer Storung
nicht bedient werden.

—► Driicken Sie die Taste RESET am Gerat.

* 1 Wenn wahrend der Wiedergabe einer MD oder CD
ein Fehler auftritt, erscheint die Nummer der MD
bzw. CD nicht im Display.

Sie sich an einen Sony-Handler.

Remarque

Si vous mettez I’appareil hors tension en appuyant sur
( off) pendant deux secondes, it ne peutplus etre
active avec la mini-telecommande sauf si la touche
( source) de I'appareil est enfoncee ou si un disque
est insere dans le lecteur pour activer d’abord
I'appareil.

Conseit

Reportez-vous a “Remplacement de la pile au lithium"
pour obtenir des informations detainees sur la fagon
de remplacer la pile (page 23).

Precautions

• Si votre voiture etait stationnee en plein soleil,
laissez refroidir l’appareil avant de l'utiliser.

• Les antennes electriques se deploient
automatiquement lorsque vous utilisez
l’appareil.

Si vous avez des questions ou des problemes
concernant le fonctionnement de cet appareil qui
ne sont pas abordes dans ce manuel, consultez
votre revendeur Sony le plus proche.

Condensation

Par temps de pluie ou dans des regions tres
humides, de la condensation risque de se former
sur les lentilles et dans la fenetre d’ affichage de
1’appareil. Si cela se produit, 1’appareil ne peut
pas fonctionner correctement. Dans ce cas,
retirez le disque et attendez environ une heure
que l’humidite se soit evaporee.

Pour conserver un son de haute qualite

Veillez a ne pas renverser de jus de fruit ou de
boissons sucrees sur 1'appareil ou sur les disques.

Remarques sur les MD

• N’ouvrez pas le volet de la cartouche
pour exposer le MD. Refermez-le
immediatement s’il s’ouvre.

• Ne touchez jamais la surface interne du disque.

• N’exposez pas les disques a la chaleur ou a des
temperatures elevees. Evitez de les laisser dans
une voiture en stationnement. sur le tableau de
bord ou la plage arriere.

Remarques sur I’apposition
d’etiquettes

Pour eviter que des MD restent coinces dans
l’appareil ;

- fixez l’etiquette dans une position correcte.

- retirez les anciennes etiquettes avant d’en
remettre de nouvelles.

- remplacez les etiquettes qui se decollent.

Nettoyage

Essuyez de temps en temps la surface de la
cartouche avec un chiffon doux et sec.

Preparation

Reinitialisation de I’appareil

Avant la premiere mise en service de T appareil
ou apres avoir remplace la batterie de la voiture,
vous devez reinitialiser l’appareil.

Retirez la fafade et appuyez sur la touche
RESET avec un objet pointu. comme un stylo a
bille.

Remarque

Une pression sur la touche RESET efface I'heure et
certaines fonctions memorisees.

Retrait de la fa£ade

Vous pouvez retirer la fafade de cet appareil pour
le proteger contre le vol.

Avertisseur

Si vous mettez la cle de contact en position OFF
sans oter la facade, Talarme retentit pendant
quelques secondes.

Si vous raccordez un amplificateur optionnel et
que vous n’utilisez pas Tamplificateur integre, le
bip sonore est desactive.

1 Appuyez sur (off)*.

La lecture MD/CD ou la reception de la radio
s’arrete (Teclairage des touches et Taffichage
restent actives).

* Si votre voiture ne possede pas de position ACC
sur le demarreur, veillez a eteindre I'appareil en
appuyant sur (off) pendant deux secondes
afin d'eviter que la batterie ne se decharge.

2 Appuyez sur ( open ) . faites
legerement glisser la fa?ade vers la
droite, puis degagez doucement le
cote gauche de la fagade.

Remarques

• Si vous retirez la fagade alors que I’appareil est
toujours sous tension, I’alimentation est
automatiquement coupee de maniere a eviter
d endommager les haut-parleurs.

• N'exercez pas de pression excessive sur la fagade
ni sur la fenetre d’affichage

• N’exposez pas la fagade a la chaleur, a des
temperatures elevees ou a I'humidite. Evitez de la
laisser dans une voiture en stationnement, sur le
tableau de bord ou la plage arriere.

Lorsque vous emportez la fagade, glissez-la dans

Fixation de la fagade

Placez 1'orifice ® de la fa 9 ade sur la broche (D
de l'appareil, puis poussez doucement la facade
vers le cote gauche.

Appuyez sur ( SOURCE ) (ou inserez un MD)
pour faire fonctionner l’appareil.

Remarque

Ne posez rien sur la surface interne de la fagade.

Reglage de I’horloge

L’horloge a affichage numerique fonctionne
suivant un cycle de 24 heures.

Exemple : pour regler l’horloge sur 10:08

1 Appuyez sur (menu) , puis appuyez
plusieurs fois sur I’un des cotes de
(disc/preset) jusqu’a ce que
I’indication “CLOCK” apparaisse.

Conseils

• Vous pouvez regler I’horloge automatiquement au
moyen de la fonotion RDS (page 18).

• Lorsque le mode D.INFO est active, I’heure est
toujours affichee (page 21).

Lecteur MD

Lecteur CD/MD (en option)

Cet appareil vous permet, outre la lecture d'un MD,
de commander des lecteurs CD/MD extemes.

Remarque

Si vous raccordez un lecteur CD optionnel possedant
la fonction CD TEXT, les informations CD TEXT
apparaissent dans la fenetre d’affichage lorsque vous
ecoutez un disque CD Text.

Ecoute d’un disque

(avec cet appareil)

1 Appuyez sur ( open ) et inserez le
disque (etiquette vers le haut).

2 Refermez la fagade.

La lecture commence automatiquement.

Si un disque se trouve deja dans 1'appareil,
appuyez plusieurs fois sur ( SOURCE ) jusqu’a ce
que l’indication “MD" apparaisse afin de
commencer la lecture.

• Lorsque la derniere plage du disque est terminee, la
lecture reprend a partir de la premiere plage du CD.

• Lorsqu’un appareil optionnel est raccorde, la lecture

Remarques

Lecture repetee de plages

— Lecture repetee

Le lecteur de l’appareil principal repete une
plage ou tout le disque lorsqu’il arrive a la fin.
Pour repeter la lecture, vous pouvez
selectionner:

• REP-1 — pour repeter une plage.

• REP-2* — pour repeter un disque.

• Disponible uniquement lorsqu’un ou plusieurs
lecteurs CD/MD optionnels sont raccordes.

En cours de lecture, appuyez
plusieurs fois sur (© (REP), jusqu’a
ce que le reglage souhaite apparaisse
dans la fenetre d’affichage.

La lecture est repetee.

Pour revenir au mode de lecture normal,
selectionnez “REP-OFF”.

Lecture des plages dans un
ordre aleatoire

— Lecture aleatoire

Vous pouvez selectionner:

• SHUF-1 — pour ecouter les plages du disque
en cours de lecture dans un ordre aleatoire.

• SHUF-2* 1 — pour ecouter les plages du lecteur
CD (MD) optionnel dans un ordre aleatoire.

• SHUF-ALL* 2 — pour ecouter toutes les plages
des appareils CD (MD) raccordes (y compris
celles de cet appareil) dans un ordre aleatoire.

*1 Disponible uniquement lorsqu'un ou plusieurs
lecteurs CD (MD) optionnels sont raccordes.

*2 Disponible uniquement lorsqu’un ou plusieurs
lecteurs MD ou au moins deux lecteurs CD sont
raccordes.

En cours de lecture, appuyez
plusieurs fois sur © (SHUF) jusqu’a
ce que le reglage souhaite apparaisse
dans la fenetre d’affichage.

La lecture aleatoire commence.

Pour revenir au mode de lecture normal,
selectionnez “SHUF-OFF”.

Remarque

La tonction “SHUF-ALL" ne passera pas d'une piste a
I’autre entre les lecteurs CD et MD.

Identification d’un CD

— Disc Memo (pour un lecteur CD possedant
la fonction CUSTOM FILE)

Vous pouvez identifier chaque disque avec un
nom personnalise (Disc Memo). Vous pouvez
saisir jusqu'a 8 caracteres pour un disque. Si
vous identifiez un CD, vous pouvez localiser le
disque par son nom (page 11).

1 Lancez la lecture du disque que vous
souhaitez identifier.

2 Appuyez sur (menu) , puis appuyez
plusieurs fois sur I’un des cotes de
(disc/preset) jusqu’a ce que
I’indication “NAMEEDIT” apparaisse.

3 Appuyez sur (enter) .

d'effectuer les etapes 2 et 3. Vous pouvez
egalement achever /’operation en appuyant sur

( list) pendant2 secondes au lieu d'effectuer
I'etape 5.

• Vous pouvez identifier des CD d’un appareil ne
possedant pas la fonction CUSTOM FILE si cet
appareil est raccorde a un lecteur CD disposant de
cette fonction. Le Disc Memo est enregistre dans la
memoire du lecteur CD avec la fonction CUSTOM
FILE.

Remarque

REP-1/la lecture aleatoire est interrompue jusqu’a ce

que I’edition du nom soit terminee.

Affichage de Disc Memo

En tant que rubrique d’affichage. Disc Memo est

toujours prioritaire sur toutes les informations

CD TEXT d’origine.

selectionner le nom du disque que
vous voulez effacer.

6 Appuyez sur ( enter ) pendant
2 secondes.

Le nom est efface.

Repetez les etapes 5 et 6 si vous souhaitez
effacer d'autres noms.

Localisation d’un disque par
son nom

— List-up (pour un lecteur CD possedant la
fonction CD TEXT/CUSTOM FILE ou pour un
lecteur MD)

Vous pouvez utiliser cette fonction pour les
disques dont vous avez personnalise les noms* 1
ou pour les disques CD TEXT* 2 .

*1 Localisation d’un disque par son nom : lorsque
vous attribuez un nom au CD (page 10) ou au MD.
*2 Localisation des disques grace aux informations
CD TEXT: lorsque vous ecoutez un disque CD

conduisez, nous vous conseillons d’utiliser la
fonction de memorisation des meilleurs
emetteurs (Best Tuning Memory) de fafon a
eviter les accidents.

Memorisation automatique
des stations

Appuyez plusieurs fois sur ( source
pour selectionner la radio.

Appuyez plusieurs fois sur (mc
pour selectionner la bande de
frequence.

Appuyez sur la touche numerique (CD
a QD) sur laquelle la station souhaitee
est memorisee.

(BTM)

L’appareil selectionne les stations emettant avec
les signaux les plus puissants pour la bande
selectionnee et les memorise selon l’ordre des
frequences.

Appuyez plusieurs fois sur
pour selectionner la bande.

Appuyez sur ( menu) , puis appuyez

Un bip retentit lorsque le reglage est
memorise.

Si la syntonisation de la station
preselectionnee ne fonctionne pas

Appuyez sur I’un des cotes de (seek)
pour rechercher la station
(syntonisation automatique).

Le balayage s’arrete lorsque l’appareil capte
une station. Repetez Toperation jusqu’a ce
que la station souhaitee soit captee.

Conseils

• Si la syntonisation automatique s’arrete trop
frequemment, activez la recherche locale pour
limiter la recherche aux stations ayant les signaux
les plus puissants (voir “Modification des reglages
du son et de I’affichage"page 21).

• Si vous connaissez la frequence de la station que
vous desirez ecouter, appuyez et maintenez enfonce
I’un des cotes de ( seek) pour localiserla frequence
approximative, puis appuyez plusieurs fois sur

( seek ) pour trouver la frequence souhaitee
(syntonisation manuelle).

Remarques

• Si queiques stations seulement peuvent etre
captees en raison de faibles signaux, certaines
touches numeriques conserveront leur reglage
prealable.

• Si un numero est indique dans la fenetre d’affichage,
I’appareil commence la memorisation des stations a
partir de la station affichee.

Si la reception FM stereo est mauvaise

Selectionnez le mode de reception
monaural.

(voir “Modification des reglages du son et de
l’affichage” page 21). La qualite du son est
meilleure, mais le son est diffuse en mode
monaural (l’indication “ST” disparait).

Memorisation des stations
souhaitees uniquement

Vous pouvez preselectionner manuellement les
stations souhaitees sur n'importe quelle touche
numerique.

1 Appuyez plusieurs fois sur ( source )
pour selectionner la radio.

2 Appuyez plusieurs fois sur ( mode )
pour selectionner la bande de
frequence.

3 Appuyez sur I’un des cotes de ( seek)
pour syntoniser la station que vous
souhaitez memoriser.

4 Appuyez sur la touche numerique
souhaitee (CD a CD) pendant deux
secondes jusqu’a ce que I’indication
“MEM” apparaisse.

L' indication de la touche numerique apparait
dans la fenetre d’affichage.

Remarque

Si vous essayez de memoriser une autre station sur la
meme touche, la station precedemment memorisee
est supprimee.

Syntonisation d’une station

Fonctions RDS

Apercu de la fonction RDS

Les stations FM disposant du systeme RDS
(Radio Data System) emettent des informations
numeriques inaudibles en meme temps que le
signal normal de leurs emissions radiophoniques.
Par exemple, l'une des informations suivantes
s’affiche lors de la reception d’une station
disposant de la fonction RDS.

— Fonction AF

La fonction Frequences alternatives (AF)
selectionne et resyntonise automatiquement la
station que vous voulez ecouter sur le signal local
le plus puissant pour cette station.

Changement automatique de frequences.

1 Selectionnez une station FM (page 13).

2 Appuyez plusieurs fois sur (af)
jusqu’a ce que Vindication “AF-ON”
apparaisse.

L’appareil lance la recherche d’une station
alternative emettant un signal plus puissant
dans le meme reseau de radiodiffusion.

Si "NO AF” clignote, la station captee ne
dispose pas de frequence alternative.

Remarque

S'il n'existe pas de frequence alternative dans la
region ou si vous n'avez pas besoin d’effectuer une
recherche, desactivez la fonction AF en selectionnant
“ AF-OFF

Services RDS

Les donnees RDS vous proposent d’autres

services comme :

• La resyntonisation automatique d une

emission, tres pratique pour les longs trajets. —

• Selon le pays ou la region ou vous vous trouvez,
toutes les fonctions RDS peuvent ne pas etre
accessibles.

• La fonction RDS peut ne pas fonctionner
correctement si le signal de retransmission est faible
ou si la station syntonisee ne transmet pas de
donnees RDS.

Pour les stations sans frequence
alternative

Appuyez sur I’un des cotes de ( seek)
tandis que le nom de la station
clignote (pendant 8 secondes).

L’appareil recherche une frequence
alternative avec les memes donnees
d'identification de programme (PI) (“PI
SEEK” apparait).

Si l’appareil ne parvient pas a trouver la
meme PI, il revient a la frequence
selectionnee precedemment.

Ecoute continue d une emission
regionale

Lorsque la fonction AF est activee : ce reglage
effectue en usine restreint la reception a une
region specifique et vous ne pouvez done pas
acceder a une autre station regionale ayant une
frequence plus puissante.

Si vous quittez la zone de reception de cette
emission regionale ou si vous voulez profiter
pleinement de la fonction AF, selectionnez
"REG-OFF” a partir du MENU (page 21).
Remarque

Cette fonction ne fonctionne pas au Royaume-Uni et
dans certaines regions.

Fonction de liaison locale
(Royaume-Uni uniquement)

Cette fonction vous permet de selectionner
d’ autres stations locales de la region, meme si
elles ne sont pas associees a vos touches
numeriques.

Ecoute des messages de
radioguidage

- TA/TP

En activant Traffic Announcement (TA) et
Traffic Programme (TP), vous pouvez
automatiquement ecouter une station FM
diffusant des messages de radioguidage. Ces
fonctions ne tiennent pas compte de remission,
de la source FM ou du CD ecoute(e) ; l’appareil
revient a remission d'origine lorsque le bulletin
d’information est termine.

Appuyez plusieurs fois sur (ta)
jusqu’a ce que I’indication “TA-ON”
apparaisse.

L’appareil commence a rechercher les
stations diffusant des messages de
radioguidage.

L’indication “TP” indique la reception de
stations de ce type et “TA” clignote pendant
le bulletin d’information. L’appareil continue
a rechercher les stations diffusant des
messages de radioguidage si 1’indication “NO
TP” apparait.

Pour annuler la reception de messages de
radioguidage, selectionnez “TA-OFF”.

Preselection du volume des messages
de radioguidage

Vous pouvez preselectionner le niveau de volume
des messages de radioguidage de fafon a ne
manquer aucune information.

1 Tournez la molette de controle du
volume pour regler le niveau de
volume souhaite.

2 Appuyez sur (ta) pendant
2 secondes.

L’indication “TA” apparait et le reglage est
memorise.

Reception de messages urgents

Si AF ou TA est active, l’appareil passe aux
messages urgents si l’un d’entre eux est diffuse
pendant que vous ecoutez une station FM ou un
CD/MD.

Preselection des stations
RDS avec les reglages AF et
TA

Lorsque vous preselectionnez des stations RDS,
l’appareil memorise chaque reglage AF/TA (on/
off) des stations ainsi que la frequence
concernee. Vous pouvez effectuer un reglage
different (pour AF, TA ou les deux) pour chaque
station preselectionnee ou selectionnez le meme
reglage pour toutes les stations preselectionnees.
Si vous preselectionnez des stations avec “AF-
ON”. Tappareil memorise automatiquement les
stations ayant le signal radio est le plus puissant.

Selection du meme reglage pour toutes
les stations preselectionnees

1 Selectionnez une bande FM (page 13).

2 Appuyez sur (af) et/ou (ta) pour
selectionner “AF-ON” et/ou “TA-ON”.

Notez que le fait de selectionner ‘AF-OFF’"
ou “TA-OFF” permet de memoriser des
stations RDS, niais aussi des stations ne
disposant pas de cette fonction.

3 Appuyez sur ( menu) , puis appuyez
plusieurs fois sur I’un des cotes de
( disc/preset ) jusqu’a ce que
I’indication “BTM” apparaisse.

4 Appuyez sur ( enter ) jusqu’a ce que
I’indication “BTM” clignote.

Selection de reglages differents pour

1 Selectionnez une bande FM et
syntonisez la station souhaitee (page
14).

( disc/preset) jusqu’a ce que
I’indication “CT-OFF” apparaisse.

2 Appuyez plusieurs fois sur le cote (+)
de (seek) jusqu’a ce que I’indication
“CT-ON” apparaisse.

L' horloge est reglee.

3 Appuyez sur (enter) pour revenir au
mode d’affichage normal.

Pour annuler la fonction CT, selectionnez “CT-

Modification du sens de
fonctionnement

Le sens de fonctionnement des commandes est
regie par defaut comme indique sur 1’ illustration
ci-dessous.

Si vous devez monter le satellite de commande
du cote droit de la colonne de direction, vous
pouvez inverser le sens de fonctionnement des
commandes.

2 secondes tout en maintenant la
commande VOL enfoncee.

Vous pouvez egalement modifier le sens de

Conseil

Lorsque le cable de jonction d’un telephone de voiture
est raccorde a la prise ATT, I'appareil diminue le
volume automatiquement lorsqu'un appel
telephonique est regu (fonction Telephone ATT).

Modification des reglages du
son et de I’affichage

Les parametres suivants peuvent etre regies :

SET (reglage)

• CLOCK (page 8)

• CT (signal d'horloge) (page 18)

• BEEP — pour activer ou desactiver le bip sonore.

• RM (satellite de commande) — pour modifier
le sens de fonctionnement des commandes du
satellite.

- Selectionnez “NORM” pour utiliser le
satellite de commande dans la position definie
par defaut.

- Selectionnez “REV” si vous montez le
satellite de commande du cote droit de la
colonne de direction.

DSPL (affichage)

• D.INFO (double information) — pour afficher
simultanement l’horloge et le mode de lecture
(on).

• AMBER/GREEN — pour changer la couleur
de F eclairage en ambre ou en vert
(MDX-CA680 uniquement).

• M.DSPL (affichage anime) — pour
selectionner le mode d’ affichage anime a partir
de “1”. “2” et “OFF”.

- Selectionnez “1” pour que les lignes
decoratives apparaissent dans la fenetre
d’affichage et pour activer l’affichage Demo.

- Selectionnez “2” pour que les lignes
decoratives apparaissent dans la fenetre
d’affichage et pour desactiver l’affichage
Demo.

- Selectionnez “OFF” pour desactiver
f affichage anime.

• A.SCRL (defilement automatique)

- Selectionnez “ON" pour faire defiler
automatiquement tous les noms affiches
composes de plus de 8 caracteres.

- Lorsque le defilement automatique est regie
sur off et que le nom du disque/de la plage est
modifie, celui-ci ne defile pas.

P/M (mode lecture)

• LOCAL-ON/OFF (mode de recherche local)

- Selectionnez “ON” pour syntoniser
uniquement les stations radio ayant les
signaux les plus puissants.

• MONO-ON/OFF (mode monaural) (page 13)

- Selectionnez “ON” pour ecouter remission
FM stereo en monaural. Selectionnez “OFF”
pour revenir au mode normal.

• REG-ON/OFF (regional) (page 16)

Vous pouvez facilement commuter entre les

maintenant Tun des cotes de ( disc/preset) enfonce

Lorsque vous conduisez sans passager, vous
pouvez profiter de l’environnement sonore le
plus agreable avec "Mes reglages favoris”.

Cette fonction dispose de deux reglages qui
permettent d’ajuster le niveau sonore de la
balance gauche/droite et de la balance avant/
arriere. Vous pouvez en selectionner l’un de ces
prereglages tres facilement avec la touche MBP.

Appuyez plusieurs fois de suite sur
(mbp) pour obtenir la position
d’ecoute souhaitee.

Le mode "Mes reglages favoris” est indique
dans la fenetre d’affichage selon l’ordre
indique dans le tableau.

Apres une seconde. l’affichage revient en
mode de lecture normal.

Si vous souhaitez regler plus precisement le
niveau sonore de la balance gauche/droite et
de la balance avant/arriere, utilisez la touche
( SOUND) (voir "Reglage des caracteristiques
du son” page 20).

Remarques

• Lorsque BAL (balance) ou FAD (balance avant/
arriere) est regie dans “Reglage des
caracteristiques du son" (page 20), le reglage MBP
revient sur OFF.

• Lorsque MBP est reglee sur OFF, le reglage de BAL
et FAD est active.

Vous pouvez profiter d’un son de graves clair et
puissant. La fonction D-bass amplifie le signal de
basse frequence et celui de haute frequence avec
une courbe plus precise qu'un amplificateur de
basses traditionnel.

Vous pouvez entendre la ligne de graves plus
clairement, meme si le volume vocal reste
identique. Vous pouvez facilement augmenter et
regler le son des graves avec la touche D-BASS.

Reglage de la courbe des graves

Appuyez plusieurs fois sur ( d-bass )
pour selectionner la courbe de graves
souhaitee.

L'effet s’intensifie a mesure que la valeur
D-BASS augmente.

Remarque

Le son des graves peut etre deforme si vous
conservez le meme volume. Dans ce cas,
selectionnez une courbe de graves moins marquee.

Entretien

Remplacement du fusible

En cas de remplacement du fusible, veillez a
utiliser un fusible dont l'intensite correspond a
celle inscrite sur le fusible d’origine. Si le fusible
grille, verifiez le branchement de 1’alimentation
et remplacez-le. Si le fusible grille une nouvelle
fois apres avoir ete remplace, cela peut reveler
une defaillance interne de l’appareil. Dans ce cas,
consultez un revendeur Sony.

Fusible (10 A)

Avertissement

N’utilisez jamais de fusible dont l'intensite
depasse celle du fusible foumi avec l’appareil car
vous risquez d’endommager l’appareil.

Nettoyage des connecteurs

L’appareil ne peut pas fonctionner correctement
si les connecteurs entre l’appareil et la facade
sont souilles. Pour eviter cela, enlevez la facade
(page 7) et nettoyez les connecteurs a l’aide d’un
coton-tige imbibe d’alcool. N’exercez pas une
pression trop forte. Vous risquez d’endommager
les connecteurs.

Remarques

• Pour plus de securite, coupez le moteur avant de
nettoyer les connecteurs et retirez la c/e de contact.

• Ne touchez jamais les connecteurs directement
avec les doigts ou avec un outil metallique.

Remplacement de la pile au lithium

Dans des conditions d’utilisation normale, les
piles durent environ 1 an. (La duree de vie peut
etre plus courte, selon les conditions
d’utilisation.) Lorsque la pile est dechargee, la
portee de la mini-telecommande diminue.
Remplacez la pile par une nouvelle pile au
lithium CR2025.

Remarques sur la pile au lithium

• Conservez la pile au lithium hors de portee des
enfants. En cas d’ingestion de la pile, consultez
immediatement un medecin.

• Essuyez la pile avec un chiffon sec pour assurer
un bon contact.

• Veillez a respecter la polarite lors de
l’installation de la pile.

• Ne la tenez pas avec des pinces metalliques, car
cela pourrait entrainer un court-circuit.

AVERTISSEMENT

La pile peut exploser en cas d’utilisation
inappropriee.

Ne rechargez pas la pile, ne la demontez pas
et ne la jetez pas au feu.

Formazione di condensa

Nei giorni di pioggia o in zone molto uraide,
l’umidita pud condensarsi sulle lenti all’intemo
del lettore e sul display. Se cio dovesse avvenire,
1 ’ apparecchio potrebbe non funzionare
correttamente. In tal caso, rimuovere il disco e
attendere per circa un’ora in modo che l’umidita
evapori completamente.

Per mantenere una qualita elevata del
suono

Fare attenzione a non versare succhi di frutta o
altre bibite sull’apparecchio o sui dischi.

Note sugli MD

• Non aprire I’otturatore della cartuccia
per esporre I’MD. Se I’otturatore si apre,
chiuderlo immediatamente.

• Non toccare mai l’interno del disco.

• Non esporre i dischi a calore o a temperature
elevate. Evitare di lasciarli in un’auto
parcheggiata, sul cruscotto/ripiano posteriore.

Note sulle etichette adesive

Per evitare che gli MD si inceppino
nell’apparecchio;

- Attaccare l’etichetta in una posizione adeguata.

- Rimuovere le vecchie etichette prima di
attaccare le nuove.

- Sostituire le etichette che si stanno staccando.

Pulizia

Pulire la superficie della cartuccia con un panno
morbido e asciutto.

Operazioni preliminari

Estrazione del pannello
frontale

Azzeramento

dell’apparecchio

Se si utilizza l’apparecchio per la prima volta o si
e sostituita la batteria dell’auto, e necessario
azzerare l’apparecchio.

Rimuovere il pannello frontale e premere il tasto
RESET con un oggetto appuntito. ad esempio
una penna a sfera.

Tasto RESET

Nota

Premendo il tasto RESET verranno cancellate le
impostazioni dell’orologio e alcune funzioni
memorizzate.

Il pannello frontale puo essere estratto per evitare
il furto dell’apparecchio.

Segnale di avvertimento

Se la chiave di accensione si trova nella
posizione OFF senza che il pannello frontale sia
stato rimosso, viene emesso per alcuni secondi
un segnale acustico di avvertimento.

Se si collega un amplificatore di potenza
opzionale e non si utilizza T amplificatore
incorporato, il segnale di avvertimento viene
disattivato.

1 Premere (off) *.

La riproduzione di MD/CD o la ricezione
radio si interrompe (Tilluminazione dei tasti e
il display rimangono accesi).

* Se la chiave di accensione dell'auto non e dotata
di posizione ACC, assicurarsi di spegnere
Tapparecchio premendo (off) per2secondi
per evitare di scaricare la batteria.

2 Premere ( open ) . quindi far scorrere il
pannello frontale verso destra e tirare
verso di se il lato sinistro del pannello.

Note

• Se si estrae il pannello quando Tapparecchio e
acceso, I’alimentazione viene disattivata
automaticamente per evitare di danneggiare i
diffusori.

• Non lasciar cadere e non esercitare una pressione
eccessiva sul pannello frontale e sul suo display.

• Non esporre il pannello frontale a calore,
temperature elevate o umidita. Evitare di lasciarlo
all’interno di auto parcheggiate, sul cruscotto/ripiano
posteriore.

Durante il trasporto inserire il pannello frontale

nell'apposita custodia in dotazione.

Applicazione del pannello frontale

Allineare il foro ® del pannello frontale con il
mandrino ® dell’apparecchio, quindi spingere il
lato sinistro in avanti.

Premere ( SOURCE) (o inserire un MD) per
attivare l’apparecchio.

Nota

Non collocare nulla sulla superficie interna del
pannello frontale.

Impostazione dell’orologio

L’orologio mostra l’indicazione digitale dell’ora
in base al sistema delle 24 ore.

Esempio: per impostare l’ora sulle 10:08

1 Premere ( menu ) . quindi premere piu
volte uno dei lati di ( disc/preset ) fino
a visualizzare “CLOCK”.

Le cifre dell’ora lampeggiano.

2 Premere

L’orologio viene attivato. Quando
l'inipostazione dell’orologio e completata, il
display ritorna a visualizzare il normale modo
di riproduzione.

• E possibile impostare I'orologio automaticamente
tramite la funzione RDS (pagina 18).

• Quando il modo D.INFO e impostato su ON, I’ora
viene sempre visualizzata (pagina 21).

Oltre a riprodurre MD questo apparecchio puo
controllare unita CD/MD esterne.

Nota

Quando si collega un apparecchio CD opzionale

• REP-2* — per ripetere un disco.

• Disponibile solo quando sono collegati uno o piu
apparecchi CD/MD opzionali.

La ricerca si arresta non appena I’apparecchio
riceve una stazione. Ripetere fino a che la
stazione desiderata non viene ricevuta.

Suggerimenti

• Se la sintonizzazione automatica si arresta troppo
frequentemente, attivare la funzione di ricerca locale
per limitare la ricerca alle stazioni con i segnali piu
forti (vedere “Modifica delle impostazioni dellaudio e
del display" a pagina 21).

• Se si conosce la frequenza della stazione che si
vuoie ascoltare. premere e tenere premuto un lato di
( seek) per trovare la frequenza approssimativa,
quindi premere ( seek) piu volte per sintonizzarsi
esattamente sulla frequenza desiderata
(sintonizzazione manuale).

Se la ricezione FM stereo e scadente

Selezionare il modo di ricezione
monofonica.

(vedere "Modifica delle impostazioni

L’ audio migliora, ma diventa monofonico
("ST” scompare).

RDS

Presentazione della funzione
RDS

Risintonizzazione automatica
per la ricezione ottimale

— Funzione AF

La funzione AF (frequenza alternativa) consente
la sintonizzazione sulla stazione con il segnale
piu forte.

L’RDS (sistema dati radio) e un servizio che
consente alle stazioni radio FM di trasmettere
informazioni digitali aggiuntive oltre al normale
segnale in radiofrequenza. Quando viene ricevuta
una stazione con la funzione RDS viene
visualizzata. ad esempio, una delle seguenti voci.

L’apparecchio inizia a ricercare una
frequenza alternativa con un segnale piu forte

frequenza alternativa.

Quando nell’area non esiste una frequenza alternativa
o quando non ne viene ricercata una, disattivare la
funzione AF selezionando “AF-OFF".

Per le stazioni prive di frequenza
alternativa

Premere un lato di (seek) mentre il
nome della stazione lampeggia (entro
8 secondi).

L'apparecchio inizia a ricercare un’altra
frequenza con gli stessi dad PI
(identificazione programma) (appare “PI
SEEK”).

Se l’apparecchio non trova gli stessi dad PI,
ritorna alia frequenza selezionata in
precedenza.

Mantenimento del programma
regionale

Quando la funzione AF e attivata: le
irapostazioni predefinite di questo apparecchio
limitano la ricezione alia regione specifica, in
modo che la stazione sintonizzata non venga
cambiata con una stazione regionale dal segnale
piu potente.

Quando ci si allontana dall’area regionale di
ricezione di programmi o quando si vuole
usufruire di tutti i servizi della funzione AF,
selezionare "REG-OFF” dal MENU (pagina 21).

Nota

Questa funzione non e disponibile net Regno Unito e
in altre aree.

Funzione Local Link
(solo per il Regno Unito)

Questa funzione consente di selezionare altre
stazioni locali della stessa area, anche se non
sono memorizzate sui tasti numerici.

2 Entro 5 secondi, premere nuovamente
il tasto numerico della stazione locale.

3 Ripetere questa procedura fino alia
ricezione della stazione locale
desiderata.

Ascolto dei notiziari sul
traffico

- TA/TP

Attivando la funzione TA (notiziari sul traffico) e
TP (programma sul traffico), e possibile
sintonizzarsi automaticamente su una stazione
FM che trasmette notiziari sul traffico. Queste
impostazioni funzionano a prescindere dal
programma FM/sorgente o dal CD/MD corrente;
al termine del notiziario l’apparecchio ritorna
alia sorgente originale.

Premere piu volte (ta) fino a
visualizzare “TA-ON”.

L’apparecchio inizia a ricercare le stazioni
con le informazioni sul traffico.

"TP” indica la ricezione di tali stazioni e
“TA” lampeggia durante un notiziario sul
traffico. L’apparecchio continua a ricercare le
stazioni disponibili con TP se viene
visualizzato "NO TP".

Per annullare tutti i notiziari sul traffico,
selezionare “TA-OFF”.

Ascolto di notiziari di emergenza

Se la funzione AF o TA e attivata, V apparecchio
riceve un notiziario di emergenza, se ne viene
trasmesso uno durante V ascolto di una stazione
FM o di un CD/MD.

Preselezione di stazioni RDS
con I’impostazione AF e TA

Quando si preselezionano stazioni RDS,
l’apparecchio memorizza 1'impostazione AF/TA
di ogni stazione (on/off) oltre che la loro
frequenza. E possibile selezionare una
impostazione diversa (per AF, TA o per
entrambe) per singole stazioni preselezionate o la
stessa impostazione per tutte le stazioni
preselezionate. Se si preselezionano stazioni con
“AF-ON” Tapparecchio memorizza
automaticamente le stazioni con il segnale radio
piit forte.

1 Selezionare una banda FM (pagina 13).

2 Premere (af) e/o (ta) per selezionare
“AF-ON” e/o “TA-ON”.

3 Premere ( menu ) . quindi premere piu
volte uno dei lati di ( disc/preset ) fino
a visualizzare “BTM”.

1 Selezionare una banda FM e
sintonizzarsi sulla stazione desiderata

Modifica della direzione operativa

La direzione operativa dei comandi e impostata
in fabbrica come illustrate sotto.

Se si desidera montare il telecomando a
rotazione sul lato destro del piantone di guida, e
possibile invertire la direzione operativa dei
comandi.

Premere (sound) per 2 secondi
premendo contemporaneamente il
comando VOL.

Suggerimento

E inoltre possibile modificare la direzione operativa di
questi comandi tramite I'apparecchio (vedere
“Modifica delle impostazioni dell’audio e del display" a
pagina 21).

Regolazione delle
caratteristiche dell’audio

E possibile regolare bassi, acuti. bilanciamento e
attenuatore.

I livelli dei bassi e degli acuti possono essere
memorizzati indipendentemente per ciascuna
sorgente.

1 Selezionare la voce che si desidera
regolare premendo ( sound) piu volte .

Ogni volta che si preme ( SOUND ) , le
indicazioni scorrono come segue:

BAS (bassi) — TRE (acuti) — BAL
(sinistra-destra) —► FAD
(anteriore-posteriore)

2 Regolare la voce selezionata
premendo un lato di ( seek) .

Quando si effettua una regolazione tramite il
comando a rotazione, premere ( SOUND ) e
ruotare il comando VOL.

Nota

Effettuare la regolazione entro 3 secondi dopo avere
selezionata la voce.

Attenuazione dell’audio

(Tramite il telecomando a rotazione o il
telecomando a scheda)

Premere (att) sul telecomando a
rotazione o sul telecomando a scheda.

Viene visualizzato brevemente "ATT-ON”,
quindi appare ‘ATT” nel display.

Per ripristinare il livello di volume precedente,
premere (ATT) nuovamente.

Suggerimento

Se al cavo ATT e collegato un cavo di interfaccia per
telefoni per auto, quando vi e una telefonata in arrivo il
volume viene abbassato automaticamente (funzione
ATT di esciusione del volume).

Modifica delle impostazioni
dell’audio e del display

— Menu

E possibile impostare le voci seguenti:

SET (impostazione)

• CLOCK (pagina 8)

• CT (ora orologio) (pagina 18)

• BEEP — per attivare o disattivare i segnali
acustici.

• RM (telecomando a rotazione) — per
modificare la direzione operativa dei comandi
del telecomando a rotazione.

- Selezionare “NORM” per utilizzare il
telecomando a rotazione nella posizione
impostata in fabbrica.

- Selezionare “REV” quando si monta il
telecomando a rotazione sul lato destro del
piantone di guida.

DSPL (Display)

• D.INFO (informazione doppia) — per
visualizzare contemporaneamente l’orologio e
il modo di riproduzione (on).

• AMBER/GREEN — per modificare il colore
dell' illuminazione in arancione o verde (solo
MDX-CA680).

• M.DSPL (display in movimento) — per
selezionare il modo Motion Display fra “1”,

“2” e “OFF”.

- Selezionare “1” per visualizzare strisce
decorative nel display e attivare il modo
Demo del display.

- Selezionare “2” per visualizzare strisce
decorative nel display e disattivare il modo
Demo del display.

- Selezionare “OFF” per disattivare il modo
Motion Display.

• A.SCRL (scorrimento automatico)

- Selezionare “ON” per far scorrere
automaticamente i nomi visualizzati di oltre
8 caratteri.

- Quando la funzione di scorrimento
automatico viene disattivata e il nome del
disco o del brano viene cambiato, il nome del
disco o del brano non viene fatto scorrere.

P/M (modo di riproduzione)

• LOCAL-ON/OFF (modo di ricerca locale)
(pagina 13)

- Selezionare “ON” per sintonizzare solo le
stazioni con i segnali piu forti.

• MONO-ON/OFF (modo monofonico) (pagina 13)

- Selezionare “ON” per ascoltare trasmissioni
stereo FM in modo monofonico. Selezionare
“OFF” per ritornare al modo normale.

• REG-ON/OFF (locale) (pagina 16)

1 Premere ( menu ) .

Per impostare A.SCRL, premere ( MENU )
durante la riproduzione di CD/MD.

2 Premere un lato di ( disc/preset) piu
volte fino a visualizzare la voce
desiderata.

3 Premere il lato (+) di (seek) per
selezionare I’impostazione desiderata
(ad esempio: ON o OFF).

4 Premere (enter) .

Dopo avere impostato il modo desiderata, il
display ritoma al modo di riproduzione
normale.

Nota

La voce visualizzata cambia in funzione della
sorgente.

Suggerimento

E possibile passare facilmente da una categoria
all'altra (“SET", “DSPL”, “P/M” e “EDIT”) premendo
uno dei lati di ( disc/preset) per 2 secondi.

Selezione della posizione
dell’audio

— Posizione ottimale dell’audio (MBP)

Quando si viaggia da soli, e possibile ottenere
l’effetto sonoro ottimale tramite la funzione
“Posizione ottimale dell'audio”.

La posizione ottimale dell’ audio dispone di due
impostazioni per regolare il livello del
bilanciamento e dell’attenuatore. E possibile
selezionare un'impostazione molto facilmente
premendo il tasto MBP.

Premere ( mbp) piu volte per ottenere
la posizione di ascolto desiderata.

Il modo della "Posizione ottimale delLaudio”
e indicato nel display in ordine sulla tabella.

Dopo un secondo, il display ritorna al modo
di riproduzione normale.

Per regolare il livello dell’audio del
bilanciamento e dell’attenuatore con
maggiore precisione, si puo usare il tasto
( SOUND ) (vedere "Regolazione delle
caratteristiche dell’audio” a pagina 20).

Note

• Se BAL (bilanciamento) o FAD (attenuatore) in
"Regolazione delle caratteristiche dell’audio’'
(pagina 20) vengono regolati, I'impostazione MBP
viene disattivata.

• Se la funzione MBP viene disattivata, le
impostazioni BAL e FAD vengono attivate.

Amplificazione dei bassi

— D-bass

E possibile ascoltare un suono con dei bassi
chiari e potenti. La funzione D-bass amplifica i
segnali di bassa e di alta frequenza con una curva
piu acuta rispetto all’amplificazione normale dei
bassi.

E possibile udire la linea dei bassi piu
chiaramente anche quando il livello del volume
non viene modificato. E possibile amplificare e
regolare il suono dei bassi semplicemente
utilizzando il tasto D-BASS.

Frequenza (Hz)

Regolazione della curva dei bassi

Premere piu volte ( d-bass ) per
selezionare la curva dei bassi
desiderata.

Aumentando il numero di D-BASS si
aumenta l’effetto dei bassi.

Nota

II suono dei bassi potrebbe risultare distorto anche se
il livello di volume non viene modificato. Se il suono
dei bassi risulta distorto, selezionare una curva dei
bassi meno potente.

Informazioni aggiuntive

Manutenzione

Sostituzione del fusibile

Quando si sostituisce il fusibile, assicurarsi di
utilizzare un fusibile dello stesso amperaggio di
quello originale. Se il fusibile si brucia,
controllare i collegamenti e sostituire il fusibile.
Se dopo la sostituzione si verifica un altro
cortocircuito, potrebbe trattarsi di un problema
interno. In tal caso, rivolgersi al piu vicino
rivenditore Sony.

Fusibile (10 A)

Avvertenza

Non usare mai un fusibile con un amperaggio
superiore a quello del fusibile fomito con
l’apparecchio. Cio potrebbe danneggiare
l’apparecchio.

Pulizia dei connettori

Se i connettori fra l’apparecchio e il pannello
frontale sono sporchi, rapparecchio potrebbe
non funzionare correttamente. Per evitare questo
problema, aprire il pannello frontale, asportarlo
(pagina 7) e pulire i connettori con un batuffolo
di cotone imbevuto d’alcol. Non esercitare forza
eccessiva. altrimenti, i connettori potrebbero
venir danneggiati.

Note

• Per motivi di sicurezza, spegnere il motore prima di
pulire i connettori e rimuovere la chiave dal
dispositivo di accensione.

• Non toccare mai direttamente i connettori con le dita
o con altri oggetti di metallo.

Sostituzione della batteria al litio

In condizioni normali, le batterie durano circa un
anno. Il ciclo di vita puo essere minore in
funzione delle condizioni di utilizzo. Quando la
batteria si scarica, il raggio d’azione del
telecomando a scheda diventa piu corto.
Sostituire la batteria con una batteria al litio
nuova CR2025.

Note sulla batteria al litio

• Tenere la batteria al litio lontana dalla portata
dei bambini. Se la batteria viene inghiottita,
consultare immediatamente un medico.

• Pulire la batteria con un panno asciutto per
assicurare un perfetto contatto.

• Assicurarsi di osservare la corretta polarita
durante l’installazione della batteria.

• Non afferrare la batteria con pinze di metallo,
in quanto si potrebbe causare un corto circuito.

AVVERTENZA

La batteria puo esplodere se trattata in modo
non corretto.

Non ricaricare, smontare o gettare nel fuoco
la batteria.
