The contractor will formulate a recombinant or nucleic-acid based SARS-CoV2 vaccine with their lead adjuvant, Advax-CpG and test the vaccine in multiple animal species for immunogenicity and efficacy, in preparation for a clinical trial scheduled to start in July 2020. In addition, the contractor will conduct in silico modeling studies of SARS-CoV2 spike protein-binding to the ACE2 receptor from a wide range of species to identify a) suitable animal models; b) identify potential intermediary host species; and c) assist in the search for antiviral drugs.
