Molecular imaging of viral infections

Principal Investigator: Dima A Hammoud Organization: CLINICAL CENTER Fiscal Year: 2024 Funding agency: NIH Clinical Center Progress: • HIV project: We have optimized our model of Gp120 expression in a tumor model and succeeflly imaged the animals using 18F-lableed nanobodies. We also developed, in collaboration with NHLBI investigators, a method for site specific labeling of the nanobodies. We found that site-specifically labeled J3 is the best nanobody. We wrote a manuscript which is currently being revised for publication. We are now testing the same nanobody in animal model of varying levels of gp120 expression. • Ebola and other high consequence viral infection: We are collaborating with the Integrated research facility on multiple studies evaluating Nipah, Lassa, Marburg, Covid-19 and Ebola infections. • Sars-Cov-2 project: We have finished our experiments and are currently writing the manuscript.
