Prosecutors presented recorded law enforcement interviews with Lance Twiggs, who provided testimony regarding Robinson's alleged statements and behavior following the shooting. Twiggs identified Robinson in surveillance footage from campus taken after the incident. Court documents displayed alleged text exchanges between Robinson and Twiggs. Robinson reportedly wrote: "why did I do it? I had enough of his hatred, some hate can't be negotiated out." He also allegedly stated: "I had hoped to keep this secret till I died of old age." Robinson purportedly texted about retrieving his rifle: "If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence." Regarding the weapon's concealment, he allegedly noted: "Only thing I left was the rifle wrapped in a towel." When asked how long he'd been planning, Robinson allegedly responded: "a bit over a week I believe." Twiggs reported that approximately one month before the shooting, Robinson requested equipment to engrave messages onto bullets, stating he wanted to create these for a hunting trip. Twiggs also testified Robinson mentioned having "a long drive to work" on the morning of the shooting and left early that day. Robinson appeared visibly uncomfortable during portions of Twiggs' testimony. His family was observed crying when the alleged text messages were displayed. Prosecutors presented physical evidence including photographs of the rifle wrapped in a towel and investigator testimony identifying the weapon's location on the Utah Valley University campus. Rather than proceeding with closing arguments Friday, Judge Graf requested written briefs from both sides regarding probable cause. Oral arguments are scheduled for September 1, 2026.
