TOUR, noun 1. Literally, a going round; hence, a journey in a circuit; as the tour of Europe; the tour of France or England. 2. A turn; a revolution; as the tours of the heavenly bodies. [Not now in use.] 3. A turn; as a tour of duty; a military use of the word. 4. A tress or circular border of hair on the head, worn sometimes by both sexes. 5. A tower. [Not in use.]
