Really interesting how science probably got it wrong
Now makes you wonder about the correlation vs causality of sunscreen use and
hypertension

Bank just brought in two crisis prevention ppl one of them who kept billg out of crisis
for 10 years named david corkery or something like that.
One of the bank PR ppl told me that the bank thinks if my name
Comes out I will have a lot of #metoo ammunition and could sue the Bank as well as
yahoo. And they are also concerned that I know where a lot of skeletons are hidden. So
they seem to be pushing harder to defend me than I thought. Which is good.

The crisis team + lawyers are helping jim put together a letter to be sent soon to banks
staff and media etc not sure of timing but they are trying to be very strategic
The two crisis ppl say do not respond to reporter he is fishing. They say the report
story has a few "buckets" of why Jim was a lousy leader and a romantic relationship
with me is only one of the buckets. They say the rest is similarly not fact based and
more personal but didn't give me details.

Some good suggestions from the crisis folks
Off the record response to reporter and copy the editor and editors editor
The note to my personal mail says nothing about good or bad and he doesn't know
what i know about his story so I can respond generally
Facts
Private citizen
Etc
Apparently it's a big long piece about Jim maybe 5000 words and the part w me if one
of many many allegations

Can we talk tomorrow / Saturday in the afternoon Seattle time? I have some updates
and need to work through options
03:07:01 am
The piece will run on Tuesday or Wednesday
The editor may be willing to talk to me. The Banks team says the reporter is unethical
and cannot be trusted but the editor is maybe better. If I want they can arrange a
conversation w her. But I need advice. Steve continues to say no lawyers they don't
help but he thinks talking to editor may be ok.
The only request I have of the editor is not using my name.
03:08:59 am
In exchange for? With what excuse? le your husband does not know

1. Their allegations were directly refuted by facts by the Bank board.
2. Im a private citizen.
3. She can reference factual reports without using names of innocent people.
Not sure whose husband or knows what?
Apparently editors don't care about lawyers so I'm not sure a threat matters.
She thinks I'm a public citizen. I don't even have Facebook or twitter or linked in and do
zero public.
07:39:45 am
I do not know what I could possibly have "in exchange" for anything?
I do think there are a few factual things about his departure that seem odd to me - I
told you his secretary is getting a divorce and going w him to his new job. Those are
both factual and verifiable. I'm not the person having an affair w him.
Also when I worked on his office he hired his nanny's husband to work on special
projects and I never knew what that was. His chief of staff seemed ok with it but I
thought it was odd be he didn't do anything.
07:43:33 am
Anyway probably easier to talk.
07:43:56 am
Steve doesn't think lawyers help anything. He says they may be able to win back
lawyers fees and get whatever publication to print a retraction somewhere but that
doesn't seem to matter.
What I don't know is if lawyers can't help prevent use of my name.
Can they do something directly to yahoo news or their lawyers or editors to make
them not use my name
Is the threat of libel even useful to them

Things to discuss
1. Speak to editor or not - off the record and if yes does a lawyer join
2. Do lawyers help and if yes which one and also seems like voice calls over email
preferred
3. Do I have information that can help them in another way
07:52:12 am
Lawyers too late. !!!
05:59:32 pm
Editor - no help at all zero
06:00:10 pm
V Sent
Now Steve says talk to you and ask about lawyers to deliver pointed message
06:01:17 pm
Lord
06:01:20 pm
Editor seems to be able to control what is in our out of story.
It's fine to question all of the allegations against Jim. They can say person in his office.
They can say person from Gates fndn etc.
06:02:22 pm
The wall st journal - wash post - financial times etc all reviewed the allegations and
stupidness and the editors took a pass and did not publish be could not substantiate
and found nothing credible.
