University of Michigan Office of Undergraduate Admissions Ann Arbor, Michigan 48109-1316 RE: I.D.: A.A.N May 5, 2014 Dear Members of the University of Michigan Undergraduate Admissions Board, Please accept this letter as my appeal to your previous decision to decline my 2014 admission to the University of Michigan. Alth h I h v n t t w II r ted institutions includin prestigious my overwhelming desire to attend the University of Michigan remains stead ast. I continue to maintain strong marks in my AP-filled curriculum, and I am proud of the grades that I have earned in the classes that don't typically come easily to me, as in AP Calculus where I have achieved an "A" for this past semester. I write for a local magazine, and since applying to the University of Michigan in September, I've had six articles published, with topics ranging from teen responsibility to daily life as a high school student. Additionally, as a leading board member of my high school's Fashion Club, I have been intimately involved in producing our spring show, where we raised close to $2,000 for the charity Relay for Life. Further, I have been fundraising with my own non-profit organization, Inspire Bright and we are sponsoring the texting and driving program, the "Arrive Alive Tour at my high school. A national program, the Arrive Alive Tour uses a car simulator to show students the real harms of texting and driving, and vividly demonstrates the impact that sending one text can have. I am hopeful that upon an appeal review of my application and after learning of my current achievements, the admissions board will reconsider their previous decision and permit me the honor to further my education and study at the University of Michigan. Sincerely, EFTA_R1_02204120 EFTA02720598
