Food-water innovation in action: lessons learned from industry practices2 Industries tackle interconnected challenges through integrated use of technology and business model innovations. Building on previous studies of emerging technologies for food system transformation,35 this chapter provides a state-of-play analysis of 12 high-impact technology levers driving green food and water innovation in emerging economies (see Figure 6).36 It examines how industries are applying these technologies to address interconnected challenges of resource scarcity, sustainability and resilience. Through case studies and market insights, this chapter highlights successful applications, systemic barriers to adoption and lessons learned from scaling-up solutions in fragmented ecosystems.
