Building on previous studies of emerging technologies
for food system transformation,35 this chapter
provides a state-of-play analysis of 12 high-impact
technology levers driving green food and water
innovation in emerging economies (see Figure 6).36
It examines how industries are applying these technologies to address interconnected challenges
of resource scarcity, sustainability and resilience.
Through case studies and market insights, this
chapter highlights successful applications, systemic
barriers to adoption and lessons learned from
scaling-up solutions in fragmented ecosystems.
The 12 technology levers summarized in Figure 6
have been selected based on their strong market
growth potential, critical significance for green food and water systems, and high applicability to
