Having adequate cybersecurity skills has emerged
as a key differentiator between highly resilient and
insufficiently resilient organizations. Among those
reporting insufficient levels of cyber resilience, 85%
also cited missing critical skills and people to fulfil
cybersecurity objectives. By comparison, only 22% of highly resilient organizations viewed skills gaps
as a significant challenge. According to the survey,
the top three cybersecurity roles experiencing
shortages are threat intelligence analysts,
DevSecOps engineers, and identity and access
management specialists.

When viewed through a regional lens, cybersecurity
talent shortages are most acute in Latin America
and the Caribbean, where 65% of organizations reported lacking critical people and skills to meet
cybersecurity objectives, and in sub-Saharan
Africa (63%).
