For the value chains flowing through Lighthouse
sites, these approaches have delivered 50%
reductions in new product introduction times.
Lighthouses have experienced eight times less
revenue shock than their peers in the wake of
the pandemic and have achieved a reduction
of between 30% and 50% in scope 1 and 2
emissions, as well as initial improvements in scope
3 emissions. Chapter 3 explores these value chain
solutions in detail.
Lighthouses continue to represent the leading
edge of holistic performance for sites, production
networks and value chains. They have proven that
“pilot purgatory” can – and should – be surpassed,
with a playbook that has worked for 189 sites
and counting. They are continuing to advance the performance frontier by innovating with impact
through technology, talent and sustainability
solutions. It has never been easier to learn from this
playbook and repeat it.
In the next chapter of the Fourth Industrial
Revolution, the focus must shift from learning to
doing – the global transformation of industry will
require millions of production sites, not hundreds.
Fast followers should be celebrated for following
the Lighthouse playbook quickly, efficiently and
effectively to achieve holistic performance. The
Global Lighthouse Network is excited to rise to
the occasion, with a rigorous framework that
recognizes sites demonstrating operational
excellence in all performance domains: technology,
talent and sustainability.
