Reimagining Collaboration in XR Lessons from the Global Collaboration Village 2025

Aramco Pavilion Industrial Innovation and immersive storytellingThe challenge Aramco, a global leader in traditional energy markets, sought a more accessible and engaging way to communicate its transition efforts – particularly complex topics such as energy technology, carbon capture and storage. The company wanted to explore new innovations to showcase the breadth and depth of these initiatives beyond what traditional formats could offer. The Village’s role Aramco used the Global Collaboration Village to consolidate its work on energy innovation under one immersive roof. The Pavilion presented interactive 3D models that depicted advanced energy technologies in action – from carbon storage systems to digital energy optimization tools. Visitors could explore topics by theme and gain a spatial understanding of how Aramco’s ventures interconnect. Participants Village participants at the Annual Meeting 2024, including policy-makers, business leaders and civil society stakeholders, engaged with Aramco’s simulations and used the space to ask questions, collaborate and explore energy futures. Key moment Visitors highlighted the value of being able to explore an entire portfolio of initiatives – carbon capture, energy tech and storage – within a single immersive environment. It offered an intuitive, compelling way to understand complex systems without needing to visit multiple physical facilities.
