Annexe: Selecting technology domains for detailed examination – methodology The report authors used several steps to identify technology domains for detailed investigation. They began by defining five critical challenges that threaten current and future agriculture production. Once these were identified, the authors selected use cases that could address these challenges and the underlying technology domains that enable these use cases. The 21 underlying domains were then analysed based on their current maturity. Complementary domains were grouped while those that do not have an impact on farm-level livelihoods were eliminated. The final selection of the seven technology domains for detailed examination was based on consultations with experts from within the AI4AI community.
