Responsible innovation goes beyond mere functionality; it emphasizes safety, security, equity, transparency and accountability. Buses are the primary mode of transport for the vast majority of people living in East Africa, accounting for 40% of all passenger trips. Furthermore, countries like Kenya generate over 90% of their energy from clean, renewable sources. BasiGo has deployed 55 electric buses to date, which have driven over 3.5 million km, carried 5 million passengers and mitigated over 1,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
