MenACWY Vaccine Recommendations*
Routinely recommended for persons at age 11–12 years and
16 years
Recommended for persons aged ≥2 months with risk factors:
–Complement component deficiencies or complement inhibitor use
–Anatomic or functional asplenia
–HIV infection
–Microbiologists routinely exposed to N. meningitidis isolates
–Persons at increased risk during an outbreak
–Persons who live in or travel to countries in which meningococcal disease is
hyperendemic or epidemic

MenACWY Vaccine Recommendations
for Persons with Risk Factors*
<2 Years:
–Age 2 months: 4 -dose series (2, 4, 6, 12 mos)
–Age 3 –6 months: 3 - or 4- dose series (dose 2 [and dose 3 if applicable] ≥8 wks after
previous dose until a dose is received at age ≥7 mos, followed by an additional dose
≥12 wks later and at age >12 mos)
–Age 7 –23 months: 2- dose series (dose 2 ≥12 wks after dose 1 and at age >12 mos)
≥2 Years: 2 -dose primary series, with doses separated by 8 wks**
Booster dose:
–Age <7 years: 3 yrs after primary series and every 5 yrs thereafter
–Age ≥7 years: 5 yrs after primary series and every 5 yrs thereafter

MenQuadfi Proposed Licensure in Infants
With discontinuation of Menactra, Menveo is the only
MenACWY vaccine available in the United States for persons under 2 years of age
Sanofi Pasteur seeking infant indication for MenQuadfi for the following ages at initiation (anticipated May 2025):
–6 weeks –5 months: 2, 4, 6, 12– 18 months (first dose may be administered as
early as 6 weeks)
–6–23 months: 2- dose series with 2nd dose administered in second year of life
and ≥3 months after 1st dose
–≥2 years: 1 dose
