The Raiders (23-3, 15-1 CC) improved its best-ever start and moved a victory from clinching a third consecutive conference championship with a 31-29, 30-24, 30-17 demolition of the seventh-place Warriors (6-14, 6-10) at the C.E. Jeffers Center. Senior all-star setter Jamie McCreary had another brilliant performance with 42 assists, 18 digs and two aces, while senior middle blocker Nicholette Le Bel shared match-high honors with 11 kills. Sophomore middle Richelle Millsap made the most of a starting opportunity with nine kills in 24 swings with only one miscue (.333), and the Bend product racked up a match-best five blocks. SOU defenders Kristen Lilly (23 digs) and Katie Pluchos (21) helped SOU finish with an 86-77 dig edge against a perennially solid defensive Warrior team. Southern can clinch the league crown and earn hosting rights to the six-team postseason tournament Nov. 11-12 by with a win over sixth-place Eastern Oregon on Friday night at McNeal Pavilion.
