SOU security director Joey Ngan said the woman woke up at about 4 a.m. in her residence hall room and saw a man standing in her room. When she asked who he was, he allegedly told her "I'll sleep good tonight" and walked out. Ngan said his department was unaware of the incident until about 1 p.m. on Sunday when they were informed the woman's roommate had posted what happened on a student Web journal site. A few hours later, they were able to contact the victim, who confirmed the story, Ngan said. The case was turned over to the APD. Detective Brent Jensen said a similar incident occurred on Sept. 18 in the early morning hours at a home on West Hersey Street. A woman awoke to find an unknown man touching her leg, who told her he thought she wanted him there. When she said no, he casually walked out of the home. Jensen said it has not been determined if both incidents are related. In both cases, the doors were unlocked at the time. Ashland Police & Fire 3:09 a.m. Friday - Ashland man, 53, arrested for improper use of 911 and offensive littering on the 300 block of East Main Street. He was taken to the Jackson County Jail in Medford. 1:46 a.m. Friday - Ashland man, 18, arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on Siskiyou Boulevard at Normal Avenue. 12:08 a.m. Friday - Two Ashland men, both 19, were cited for allowing minors to consume alcohol on their property on the 300 block of Morton Street. 10 p.m. Thursday - A woman reported her purse had been stolen from her car on the 100 block of Lincoln Street. A short time later, she located the purse in a nearby van. The owner of the van was not located, and the vehicle was towed so a warrant could be served. 5:29 p.m. Thursday - Ashland woman, 49, arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants on Ashland Street. 3:56 p.m. Thursday - An officer observed a male transient, 18, taking a bicycle from the bike racks in front of the Ashland Public Library on Siskiyou Boulevard. He was arrested for theft and being a minor in possession of alcohol. He was taken to the Jackson County Jail. 6 a.m. Thursday - Report of the theft of a "Kerry-Edwards" sign from a front lawn on the 600 block of Helman Street.
