Dream workshop Charu Colorado, artist, dream and personal life coach will present two new six-week workshops in Ashland starting Monday, February 3, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday, February 7, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The workshops are designed around several interactive, imagination-provoking processes that reveal how the unconscious mind through dreams constantly presents advice, scenarios for action and reminders of goals and values. Participants have the opportunity to learn how to remember their dreams and are invited to tell them in a secure, confidential environment. They are also taught how to listen and help others find meaning in their dreams. Colorado has conducted dream and art workshops nationwide and has been part of a research team inquiring into the nature of creativity at the Galton Institute in Los Angeles. According to Colorado, "This and other brain research reveals that dreaming is part of our creative thinking. Dreaming works as an intuitive adjunct to our logical awake mind. Whether or not we remember them, our dreams propel energy into our consciousness that fuels our hunches, as well as our artistic, scientific and mathematical endeavors. The research also shows that dreams are mainly a right brain function. People who pay active attention to their dreams on a regular basis are constantly balancing their right and left brains." "Thus," she concludes, "we notice as far as behavior is concerned, if these same people are decoding their dream language, they will be more adaptable, more spontaneous and more creative than others who are not paying attention to their dreams."
