Senior outfielder Kim Kraxberger delivered a bottom-of-the-seventh walkoff home run — her first round-trippers as a Raider — to win Game 1 by a 1-0 count, but Claremont (8-3) limited SOU to one hit in taking Game 2, 2-0. Senior pitcher Julianne Cree tossed a two-hitter in the opener and struck out nine to improve to 6-2 on the season, while junior third baseman Katie Lee accounted for two of SOU’s four hits. On Saturday, the SOU softball team split an action-packed non-conference doubleheader against Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, Calif. The 23rd-ranked Raiders defeated the Argonauts 10-7 in Game 1, but fell 13-5 in an error-prone, eight-inning Game 2 decision. Senior pitcher Julianne Cree improved to 5-2 on the year with a complete-game effort in the opener, while senior outfielder Kim Kraxberger (3-4) and freshman Deni Rowley (3-5) each had three-hit performances. SOU, which entered the day as the Cascade Conference leader for fielding percentage, committed five errors in Game 2. Senior all-star outfielder Leann Foster went 4-for-7 on the day, while Kraxberger finished 5-for-8. The Raiders (10-7) open league play at home next weekend against Concordia and Corban. Track and Field Defending NAIA champion Scott Myers equaled his top career shot put mark and easily qualified for the national meet to highlight the Raiders's track and field performance at the Oregon Preview at Hayward Field on Saturday. Women’s Tennis SOU's women's tennis team capped a perfect 3-0 weekend and improved to 9-1 on the season by topping a tough University of Oregon club team, 5-4, in Eugene on Sunday. Freshman Katie Ross and junior Iuliia Efunia each went undefeated to spearhead the Raider attack. On Saturday, the Raiders topped NAIA Region I rival Albertson College 7-2 in Salem. The victory snapped a two-dual Coyote win streak in the series, but the teams will meet again next month at the regional tournament.
