Medford police detectives with assistance from the Ashland Police Department arrested Jonathan Cureno at a residence on the 300 block of West Nevada Street at 11 p.m. Sunday. At 3:20 p.m. Sunday on Western Avenue north of West Main Street in Medford, officers discovered Jason Torres, 22, of Medford suffering from multiple stab wounds to the torso and arm. He was taken to Rogue Valley Medical Center where he underwent surgery. Police officials said the injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening. Cureno was arrested on multiple assault charges and lodged at the Jackson County Jail in Medford. Police are still searching for a second subject who fled the scene with Cureno in a green, 1987 Ford Aerostar van. He is described as an Hispanic male in his mid-20s with dark short hair, sunglasses, approximately 6-feet tall, 200 pounds with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a white jersey and dark colored sweat pants. Anyone with information is asked to call the Medford Police Department at 774-2250. Ashland Police and Fire o 3:04 a.m. today - A vehicle was pulled over on Pioneer Street at Lithia Way for driving on the wrong side of the road. An Ashland woman, 21, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. An intoxicated female passenger, 19, of Ashland was cited for minor in possession of alcohol and released to a sober adult. o 12:55 a.m. Monday - While on routine patrol, an officer discovered a broken window of a car parked on the 700 block of Oak Street. Damage was estimated at $150. o 8:15 p.m. Sunday - Female transient, 20, cited for having two dogs at large at Lithia Park. o 2:55 p.m. Sunday - An off-duty APD police detective observed a male juvenile smoking marijuana while working as a painter on Harmony Lane at Siskiyou Boulevard. The juvenile's pipe was confiscated and he was cited for possessing less than an ounce of marijuana. o 2:15 p.m. Sunday - A man reported his brakes failed on Lithia Way at Water Street and he ran off the roadway and hit a sign to avoid hitting cars. 10 a.m. Sunday - Report of $500 damage to the rear entrance window at Drill Doctor on Hersey Street. o 6:49 a.m. Sunday - Report of an unknown person who entered a room at the Windmill Inn on Ashland Street and stole a wallet and purse with $275 in cash. o Sunday - A juvenile struck two parked cars on Clay Street at Siskiyou Boulevard while intoxicated and drove away. The juvenile was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, hit and run of property and assault and was lodged at the Juvenile Department Detention Center. Damage to the two vehicles was estimated at $12,000.
