And while the masters of mystery, comedy and adventure storytelling paid homage to their political idol, Al Gore, and made the dreams of an up-and-coming 'Idol' reject come true, the best performance of a generation passed silently by earlier this month without notice. It is understandable that Hollywood would worship the ground the former vice president walks on. After all, he was a partner to the celebrated Bill Clinton for eight years, and purportedly the brains behind the Internet. He is often perceived as the man who would be president had not the election been stolen from him. And as of late, his status has transformed from big, fat loser to big man on campus. That campus would be every university across the fruited plains where the subject of global warming has caught fire. And the pattern of hype of this issue is unmistakable. Just a few years ago, global warming was a hotly debated issue both inside and outside of the scientific community. The United Nations jumped onboard, along with a variety of industrialized nations, seeking answers to vague prognostications with wildly varying scenarios and time frames that all spelled doom for the planet. The global warmists eventually cooled the hot rhetoric in the arena of public debate and began to use political clout to pressure governments to do something. Eventually congress and the energy industry relented. As recently as last year, both the energy industry leaders and congress accepted that the global warming debate was no longer a debate. It was a reality that had to be dealt with. The global warmists had won. Enter Al Gore, stage left. Held aloft for his role in bringing an 'inconvenient truth' to light, Gore basked in the spotlight of the Oscars, overshadowing the man to whom The Academy actually awarded its revered prize. Touted as the "inspiration" for a documentary that set the nation ablaze with talk of global warming consequences, Gore added another notch to his belt of super achievements that may well be lost in the annals of history. And rightly so. Hollywood is a place where the pretense of reality is celebrated. Imitation of life is at times held in greater regard than life itself. And the greatest fear among those who create the visual garbage we love to consume with an insatiable hunger, is a loss of control. And despite the magic of tinsel town technology, man has no control over the weather. Yet, while the glamour gods glorified the issue of global warming, they ignored the issue of global domination — and it is within this arena where the greatest performance of all time is currently being arrogantly eschewed by the celebrated idiot savants of our time. While Gore is esteemed for his expositions on climate changes, it isn't what he is saying that is most relevant — rather what he isn't saying. The most important deception in the history of this great nation is occurring right now, while a man who has been privy to knowledge of this dire dishonesty for 30 years as a political insider waxes eloquently about scientific theories that attempt to predict weather patterns 50+ years into the future. At the same time meteorologists around the nation suffer under the reputation of being unable to accurately predict the weather from one day to the next. REALITY TV Meanwhile, the armies of the world focus their attention on the Middle East, as did the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on February 1, when it entertained two key witnesses whose testimonies will never be heard by the hordes in Hollywood who would rather play down or ignore altogether the plight of the pitiful lives being devoured daily at the hands of this nation. The testimonies of two former National Security Advisors — Brent Scowcroft and Zbigniew Brzezinski — describe a very real scenario of the past, the present and the future that no Hollywood producer, director or screenwriter has yet to fathom. Scowcroft arrogantly describes American policy as one that must control the Middle East region at all costs. Ironically, this was the same position of Time magazine editors in its January 7, 1952 issue when the U.S. government was scolded for not immediately filling the vacuum in the Mideast vacated by the hated British. Time magazine claimed that the U.S., whether it wanted to or not, was obligated to establish policy in the Middle East for the entire Western world. Scowcroft agrees. He testified that under no circumstances, outside of completely neutering all opposition in the region, that U.S. forces ought to be reduced. His recommendation for the future of the Middle East is that it would always remain under the control of the United States. Brzezinski paints a dark, gloomy picture of American involvement in the Middle East, but then goes even further than Scowcroft in explaining what is likely and "plausible." He describes the war in Iraq as an "historical, strategic and moral calamity undertaken under false assumptions." But his words regarding America's focus on Iran is most damning. He opens a Pandora's box of insight into how our government works that legitimizes a conspiracy theorist's worst nightmare. In his own written testimony: "If the United States continues to be bogged down in a protracted bloody involvement in Iraq, the final destination on this downhill track is likely to be a head-on conflict with Iran and with much of the world of Islam at large. "A plausible scenario for a military collision with Iran involves Iraqi failure to meet the benchmarks; followed by accusations of Iranian responsibility for the failure; then by some provocation in Iraq or a terrorist act in the U.S. blamed on Iran; culminating in a 'defensive' U.S. military action against Iran that plunges a lonely America into a spreading and deepening quagmire eventually ranging across Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. "A mythical historical narrative to justify the case for such a protracted and potentially expanding war is already being articulated. Initially justified by false claims about WMD's in Iraq, the war is now being redefined as the 'decisive ideological struggle' of our time, reminiscent of the earlier collisions with Nazism and Stalinism. In that context, Islamist extremism and al Qaeda are presented as the equivalents of the threat posed by Nazi Germany and then Soviet Russia, and 9/11 as the equivalent of the Pearl Harbor attack which precipitated America's involvement in World War II." What is missing from the Senate's testimony are the words of the presidents themselves. Brzezinski served under Jimmy Carter, who offered these words less than a year after the Iranian Revolution in 1979 successfully loosened America's and Great Britain's 26-year control over Iran's government and its oil resources. Carter said: "Let our position be absolutely clear. An attempt by any outside force to gain control of the Persian Gulf region will be regarded as an assault on the vital interests of the United States and such an assault will be repelled by any means necessary, including military force." Since that time, and even before, America's military has not fought to protect America's freedoms or its democracy. It has fought to protect this nation's economic "vital interests." In layman's terms, oil. AMERICA'S QUEST FOR OIL Most Americans aren't aware that it was president Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1953 — kowtowing to British requests to go to war against Iran over control of oil — who authorized the CIA operation "Project Ajax," which successfully overthrew a democratically elected government in Iran and shifted power to the Shah, whose father was an ally of Hitler. In a letter to George W. Bush just one year ago, the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, addressed the issue of America's unprovoked invasion of the Middle East through the overthrow of the Iranian government. But America wasn't listening. Bush told us we don't talk to terrorists. Apparently, Gore doesn't talk to these people either. Perhaps there is no need to for inclusion of Middle East nations in the war on warming. TARGET IRAN Since writing that letter the Iranian president has tried to communicate with both the American people and our leaders. He has proposed an uncensored world debate with Bush. He has written an open letter to the American people. He has talked to the top tier of the American media. He has remained open to talk to any member of congress or any U.S. diplomat. All have shunned this man. Meanwhile, the National Security Advisor to Jimmy Carter (and Richard Nixon) tells the Senate Foreign Relations Committee a few weeks ago that in a plausible scenario in the ramp-up to invade Iran the U.S. would stage a 'terrorist' attack — killing innocent people in Iraq or on American soil — and blame it on Iran. If a man who has operated at the highest echelon of U.S. political leadership can imagine such a scenario and testify to its probability to the senate, why does a man like Al Gore — who has a much bigger microphone and spotlight, courtesy of his Hollywood affiliations — not afford us necessary insight into the vile, despicable machinations of a government that apparently has no qualms about murdering a few thousand civilians in order to advance a political, economic and military agenda? Since Carter's fateful words uttered in his State of the Union address in January 1980, the role of the U.S. military in the Middle East has become known as the " Carter Doctrine ." It is no coincidence that just 8 months after Carter abruptly annexed the Middle East as "U.S. vital interests," Iraq invaded Iran. And the U.S. began a decade-long relationship with Saddam Hussein — the extent of which has yet to be fully disclosed by any of our leaders, including Al Gore. Yet, each of our presidents since Carter have continued the same policy of aggression in the Middle East. SONG OF VITAL INTERESTS George H. Bush proclaimed that America "must protect our vital interests" as he sold the nation on the need to defend Saudi Arabia in 1990. His apparent long-term friendship with Saddam that extended up to July 25, 1990 suddenly turned sour eight days later on August 2, 1990 when Iraq invaded Kuwait with the tacit permission of the U.S. As it turned out, Bush lied about Saddam's ability, intentions and military power in order to send more than a half-million troops to invade Iraq in 1991. America's freedoms weren't at risk. America's "vital interests" were. Claiming the war to be over after a few weeks, Bush maintained a heavy military presence in Iraq, securing control of its skies and providing cover for various U.S.-backed terrorist groups to engage in the same sort of urban guerilla warfare witnessed today in Iraq. A leader of the umbrella group (Iraqi National Congress) is currently serving in the Iraqi government at the will of the United States. Ahmad Chalabi is a chameleon whose unelected authority within the Iraqi government has enabled him to shift from Deputy Prime Minister to Oil Minister to any other leadership role necessary to protect "U.S. vital interests." The Wall Street Journal published an in-depth article last week on the incredible shifting role of this man whose working relationship with the CIA goes back to the early 90s. Throughout the Clinton administration, with Hillary and Al's silent approvals, the U.S. continued to bomb Iraq, contaminate its land, water and food supplies while maintaining a steady flow of Iraqi oil in hundreds of thousands of barrels every day. Clinton called it a "policy of containment." The First Lady and vice president parroted the message. Clinton justified the U.S. military's role in Iraq as necessary to "protect America's vital interests." The "vital interests" rhetoric became the mantra of the current Bush administration. And in the aftermath of 9/11, a window of opportunity opened to initiate yet another ground invasion of Iraq. The American media framed the war as a first strike. And in March 2003 headlines across America screamed that war had begun. REALITY ... AGAIN But this act of war was merely one of many in a performance that had begun in 1990 and continued unceasing to this present day. More than 1,000,000 U.S. troops would serve in Iraq since 1990 according to the Department of Defense. The DOD could not cover the deaths of U.S. servicemen, but it could reclassify them in order that the media would report just 147 deaths in the 1991 invasion of Iraq, while the DOD and Veterans Administration's own numbers from July 1990 to August 1991 report more than 11,000 dead. From 1990 to the present day over 33,000 U.S. troops have died and more than 200,000 wounded — all due to service in Iraq. But this information would never see the light of day via the national media, Hollywood, or its celebrated climate lobbyist, Al Gore. SILENT COMPLIANCE There has been no better performance worthy of an Oscar than that played by the former president George H. Bush — a man who left the upper echelon of the CIA to command the entire U.S. military and, as president, lead this nation into war that has never ended. Yet, as he sits in the shadows watching us glorify Al Gore, reminisce about Bill Clinton and deify Hillary, his son carries out the mandatory duties of a Middle East policy set in place 54 years ago. From time to time both Dubya and his watchdog Dick Cheney, provide us a tiny glimpse into the secret Brzezinski was attempting to let out of the bag in his senate committee testimony— there is nothing congress can or will do to stop the military machinations set in motion in the Middle East. After hearing from two former security advisors, both of whom proclaimed America's lasting role in the Middle East, the senators who heard that testimony have done nothing to alert the people they serve. The national media has not told this story. No independent investigations have been requested. No forums to discuss this enormous issue have been convened. The implications made by both of these men — who have been in the know for many years — is simply that congress isn't a factor. The will of the American people doesn't matter. The media is irrelevant. The U.S. will exert its might and its authority in the Middle East region by force. It will, if necessary, do it alone. SECRET GOVERNMENT AGAINST THE WORLD More than 118 nations gathered together in November last year to express a worldwide disdain for American arrogance and force that has left few places on the globe unscathed. The U.S. military is deployed in roughly 70 percent of the 192 nations of the world. Yet, our leaders create a constant fear of catastrophe lurking in the guise of shape-shifting bogeymen while they conveniently ignore the truth of American aggression around the globe and particularly in the Middle East. And while Bush (41) directs the performance behind the scenes, as he has since his days as head of the CIA, Americans are mesmerized by Gore's sideshow. The Defense Secretary has been replaced by a former head of the CIA. The former head of all 16 secret agencies left his post to act as the No. 2 man in the State Department. Bush and Cheney have challenged the congress to a duel and won. America will fulfill a fateful role in the Middle East as ruler, even if that means waging war with every nation that challenges our authority. There is nothing the American people can do to save the lives of our troops and back away from the quagmire of the Middle East. The so-called 'surge' of 21,000 troops is just the beginning of augmenting U.S. military presence and power in the Middle East. The testimonies of two powerful men, spoken in brazen no-holds-barred terms to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, have been ignored. GREATEST PERFORMANCE There has never been a more deeply disturbing plot, a more complete and effective performance given, and a greater impact upon the public at large than that which has come from inside the Beltway this year and every year previous since the Carter administration. Few of the experts and pundits have seen the buildup of secret agencies under one branch, fewer still have seen the continuity of the war in Iraq — a massive historical 16-year venture that only Saddam Hussein has characterized correctly. It is indeed the mother of all wars. And it is about to give birth to another. In the meantime, Hollywood and its glamour god Gore will ignore the million-plus American troops sent to the Middle East region, the million-plus casualties of the "protracted bloody" conflict that now threatens expansion throughout the entire Middle East region, and the growing hatred of America throughout the world due to the long line of leadership that has led us down a road to ruin. GLOBAL DESTRUCTION Instead, global warming will sustain the concern of the Gore fans.
