Hegdahl makes all-state Ashland High junior first baseman Chad Hegdahl was the only Grizzly named to the Class 4A all-state team, announced Tuesday. Hegdahl, a first-team all-Southern Oregon Conference first baseman and pitcher who led the league with a .511 regular season batting average, was named to the all-state honorable mention squad. The 6-2 lefty led the Grizzlies during the regular season in both batting average and ERA (2.66). North Medford's Rob Folsom and Reese Lamson were the SOC's only first-team all-state representatives. Newberg senior pitcher Dallas Buck was named player of the year for the state champion Tigers, and Jesuit's Craig Webster was voted coach of the year. - The 4A and 3A all-state teams are in today's scoreboard.
