--> --> Thanks from the bike safety folks Thanks to Ashland Community Hospital, Alliance for Community Traffic Safety, Rogue Valley Medical Center, Ashland School District, Rogue Valley Cycle Sport, Ashland Community Food Store, and City of Ashland for sponsoring Bicycle Transportation Alliance's (BTA) Bicycle Safety classes, which are taught to fifth and sixth graders in public schools. With help from these sponsors, BTA was able to teach all sixth graders at Ashland Middle School and take the curriculum to a school in Medford. This summer I have noticed more youth wearing helmets than I have seen in the past. These youth are biking with bike safety knowledge. Recently a 9 year old boy was struck and killed by a car while bicycling in Medford. His death was a tragedy that might have been prevented had he received BTA's classes. I am grateful for the sponsorships that make these important classes a reality for youth.
