With several exceptions, Asante cannot offer new routine care appointments after March 31. ATRIO’s refusal to pay its bills has forced this decision. Heather Rowenhorst, SVP and Chief Financial Officer at Asante, confirmed that, with the current and impending economic headwinds healthcare organizations are facing today, Asante cannot sustain the continued lack of payment. Asante confirmed that ATRIO Members must take action before March 31 to avoid disruption. Routine appointments for ATRIO members that are already scheduled will remain unchanged through June 30. In the meantime, Asante is providing resources to help ensure patients can continue receiving care from the physicians and providers they know and trust. ATRIO patients with services that are at high risk for disruption and access, including those undergoing cancer care and receiving behavioral health services, can still access Asante services, including emergency services at Asante. ATRIO members who wish to continue receiving services at Asante should enroll in alternative Medicare Advantage plans. Asante continues advocating for patients in southern Oregon and will continue petitioning both the Oregon Department of Financial Regulation (DFR) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to take action on this matter.
