First-year coach Lynn Kennedy declined to name the players, but said they were suspended for violating team rules. “It’s not that big of a deal,” Kennedy said. “We just set some rules at the beginning of the year and some of them didn’t follow the rules. We’re trying to get this thing back in order.” The suspensions leave SOU with just eight players to suit up for one of the most important road trips of the season. The Raiders (9-11, 2-7 league) are currently in ninth-place in the 10-team Cascade Conference, just behind both Northwest (4-5) and Evergreen State (3-6). “It doesn’t change anything,” Kennedy added. “We’ve just got to play better. It doesn’t matter if we have eight or 14, we’ve got to execute on offense and we’ve got to play better defense.”   --> Copyright © 2006 Ashland Daily Tidings and Ottaway Newspapers.
