--> --> Bandon lawyer arrested in Mexico BANDON (AP) - A Bandon lawyer wanted by the FBI for two years was arrested Thursday in Mexico after he fled there to escape drug and prostitution charges. The FBI arrested Paul Frederick Gloyn, 45, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and was scheduled to bring him to the United States Thursday afternoon, said R. Paul Frasier, chief deputy district attorney for Coos County. Cabo San Lucas is a popular tourist town on the southern tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula. Gloyn was wanted on charges returned by a Coos County grand jury in 1999, Frasier said. Frasier would not say where Gloyn would arrive, but said he would not be brought directly to Oregon for security reasons. Gloyn and his wife, April, went to Mexico in August 1999 after he was indicted on charges of trading sex for legal services, prostituting a teen-ager and taking money from clients without helping them. He was disbarred by the Oregon Supreme Court last September for 31 violations of the Oregon State Bar code. In February, a Bandon resident spotted Gloyn in Roseburg, where he may have been visiting friends. FBI agents tracked him, but he already had left the area. The FBI is no longer searching for his wife, who apparently drowned after having a seizure while riding a personal watercraft last year. The body was cremated before it could be identified by U.S. officials, leaving some locals wondering if the death was faked. But Mexican authorities said it was April Gloyn, according to the FBI. Gloyn, who started his career 11 years ago with the Douglas County district attorney's office in Roseburg, is barred for life from practicing law in Oregon. His annual advertising calendar contained partially nude photos of his wife and other women, according to court depositions. Also according to court records, Gloyn had sex with a 17-year-old client and charged others $100 an hour to have sex with her. Email your...
