Audience members will be seated on the stage for this intimate concert. The duo is touring to promote its newest album, "Wild Places," produced by Pete Droge and Elaine Summers and set for release this month. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased online at brittfest.org , at the Britt box office, 216 W. Main St., Medford, or by calling 541-773-6077. Academy of St. Martin in the Fields The London-based chamber ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, in the Music Recital Hall on the Southern Oregon University campus, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. Formed by Sir Neville Marriner in 1958, Academy of St. Martin in the Fields gave its first performance in its namesake church in late 1959. Through its recordings — a 1969 bestseller of Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons and the soundtrack to the 1985 Oscar-winning film "Amadeus" — the conductor-less ensemble has gained an international reputation for its distinctive and polished interpretations of classical music. Tickets are $42 or $49 and can be purchased online at www.chambermusicconcerts.org or by calling 541-552-6154 or 541-552-6348. Puss 'n Boots Costume Ball Celebrate Halloween at one of the biggest, funnest events in the Rogue Valley. The 24th Annual Puss 'n Boots Costume Ball and Auction starts at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St. Tickets are $45 and include a catered dinner — with a vegetarian option — along with live and silent auctions, a no-host bar, a costume contest and live music by Ashland jazz and blues band Bathtub Gin Serenaders. The annual fundraiser for Friends of the Animal Shelter will benefit homeless animals at the Jackson County Animal Shelter in Phoenix. Costumes are not required — but what's a Halloween party without them? Rogue Valley Symphonic Band The community band, directed for the first time by Dan Kocurek, will present "Changing of the Guard," a program featuring English composer Gusat Holst's First Suite, Percy Grainger's Irish Tune from County Derry and Haydn Wood's symphonic tone-poem Mannin Veen, along with music by Alfred Reed, Frank Ticheli and Steven Bryant. Narration will be by music historian Ed Wight. Kocurek is an instructor at Southern Oregon University and a member of the SOU Concert Choir. The concert is set for 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, in the auditorium at Phoenix High School, 745 N. Rose St. Tickets are $10, $7 for seniors, $5 for students, $16 for a family, and can be purchased at the door. The Hamazons The Warrior Princesses of Improv — Cil Stengel, Eve Smyth and Kyndra Laughery — will present "A Completely Improvised Zombie Apocalypse (in the style of Jane Austen)" at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Oregon Cabaret Theatre, corner of First and Hargadine streets, Ashland. The troupe will brave the unknown (and a zombie apocalypse) to create an unscripted story filled with wit, romance, danger and brains …lots of brains ... inspired by such stories as "Sense and Sensibility" and "Mansfield Park." Musical accompaniment by Darcy Danielson. Tickets are $18 in advance and can be purchased at the box office or by calling 541-488-2902. Tickets are $21 at the door. Appetizers, desserts and beverages will be available.
