Robert S. Harkey The memorial graveside service for Robert Sidney Harkey will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept., 20, 2003 at the Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland. Officiating will be Rev. John Braund. Mr. Harkey, 62, of Ashland, died Sept. 6, 2003 at home. He was born Dec. 30, 1940 at Ashland, Oregon the son of Elva and Celo Harkey. He graduated from Ashland High School. He served in the United States Navy for 13 years and worked for Delah Timber in White City as a truck driver. On Feb. 14, 1972 at Olongapo, Philippines he married Corazon Aquino who survives. Mr. Harkey enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the SOFAA. Surviving in addition to his wife Corazon, are his son Eric Harkey and wife Ethelyn, of Marysville, Wash.; two sisters Ruth H. Robinson of Albany. and Nina Simpson of Medford. and friend Norita Hyde of Ashland; and numerous nieces and nephews. One brother and one sister preceded him in death. Arrangements are under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Ashland.
