--> --> Trial wraps up in shaken baby case BEND (AP) - A jury is expected to begin deliberating on Thursday in the trial of a woman accused of shaking a 14-month-old baby to death at her daycare center. Lynn Stickney is accused of murder and first-degree manslaughter in the death a year ago of Zeph Taylor Theobold. Stickney, 35, denied the charges during testimony on Tuesday. "I did not shake Zeph," she testified. "I did not throw him against the wall. I did not hurt Zeph." Stickney said she was cleaning up at her daycare when she was startled by a noise and heard Zeph crying. She noticed the boy had fallen and she went over to him, she said. "I noticed a little blood on his bottom lower lip," she said. Stickney told the jury she picked up Zeph so she could change him, and when she lifted him up he lost consciousness. Deputy District Attorney Kandy Gies asked Stickney if she had become upset on June 6, 2000, shook the baby and threw him down on a soft surface. "No, I did not shake the baby," she said. "Nothing happened that morning at all." Zeph was taken to the hospital shortly after he was hurt, and doctors found his brain was bleeding heavily.
