Michael Bollinger Rukstalis, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Hyatt Prairie Road at Dead Indian Memorial Road, which was reported shortly before 10:30 a.m. Saturday, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department said. A passing motorist called 9-1-1 after finding Rukstalis's 14-year-old son sitting "in shock" about one-half mile from the crash site. He was treated and released from Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford for neck and shoulder pain. The road was blanketed in snow and ice at the time of the wreck, sheriff's officials said. Ashland Police & Fire 9:12 p.m. Sunday - Vehicle stopped on North Main Street at Bush Street for defective lighting and failure to drive within lane. A San Francisco man, 37, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to perform a breath test. He was taken to the Jackson County Jail in Medford. 12:28 a.m. Sunday - Ashland woman, 53, arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on Siskiyou Boulevard at Union Street. 11:11 p.m. Saturday - Ashland man, 42, arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on the 2200 block of Ashland Street. 1:12 p.m. Saturday - Report of graffiti at the Dairy Queen on Siskiyou Boulevard. 12:57 p.m. Saturday - Report of graffiti on Walker Avenue at Siskiyou Boulevard. 9:29 a.m. Saturday - Male transient, 35, arrested for a probation violation on Siskiyou Boulevard.
