--> --> Thanksgiving to football fans On behalf of Southern Oregon University, we write to say thank you to all who supported the Raider football team this season. As they marched into the NAIA championship playoffs, these young men performed admirably, accumulating notable plays, victories, and awards. The players and coaches were inspired by your show of support and are grateful for the enthusiastic crowds. You helped make this a season to remember with your roaring cheers and your contributions to the Raider Club. The Raider team joined the Festival of Lights parade, where they were buoyed by cheering crowds the evening before their final game. Despite the unexpected snowstorm, the stadium was packed Saturday. Of course, like you, we wanted to see our team win, but we are proud of their extraordinary talent and tenacity. While the seniors must feel the most disappointment, they can rest assured that they have set the stage for future SOU teams to go for the NAIA championship playoffs again. Our pride in these Raiders extends beyond their skill on the gridiron. The players remember why they came to SOU and are serious about their academic work. All of the seniors are graduating and are sure to become successful in their chosen life paths. No doubt they will bring honor to their alma mater. In short, they are good students, splendid role models, and terrific ambassadors for SOU and southern Oregon. Again, we thank the scores of friends who have made this collegiate football season one of good, clean fun and strong civic spirit. Now let's tune in to our volleyball Raiders as they participate in the NAIA championship playoffs at West Palm Beach, Florida this week.
