Swimmers post wins over Panthers ASHLAND - Travis Bishop and Arron Nelson registered two individual victories apiece as the Ashland boys remained undefeated in Southern Oregon Conference swimming Friday at McNeal Pavilion. The Grizzly boys and girls posted wins over South Medford in the SOC dual. Ashland's boys downed the Panthers 123-79, while the girls won 124-96. For the girls, Michelle Smith led the Grizz with two individual wins. Her first was in the 50-meter freestyle (26.66), which she followed up in the next race with a blue ribbon in the 100 fly in 1:11.16. The girls also took the 200 and 400 free relays with Smith, Keely Zodrow, Lena Freeman and Ashley Roda. The 200 was won by more than 10 seconds in a time of 1:52.86 to 2:06.78. Roda took her own win in the 100 free over Zodrow by a mere second in times of 1:00.90 to 1:01.52. Audrey Copeland rounded out the individual Grizz winners with her victory in the 100 breaststroke (1:25.91). The boys also won the 200 and 400 free relays, but the Panthers did not swim in the 200. Ashland sent Nick Benedetti, Ben Dawson, Jeremy Johnson and Ross Mather into the tank to take the one second win from the Panthers in the 400 in a time of 4:05.90. Geoff Berteau won a blue ribbon individually for the Grizz in the 100 free, leaving South's Ben Beecher in his wake by nearly eight seconds in a time of 57:38 to 1:05.06. Dawson completed the individual winning party for the Grizz, taking the 500 free in 5:45.96.
