SOU men go down in CCC road tilt CALDWELL, Idaho - Kara Magee-Arick made a Southern Oregon University women's basketball record nine 3-pointers as the Raiders remained undefeated in Cascade Conference play with a 92-66 rout of Albertson on Friday. Magee-Arick, who finished with a game-high 33 points, surpassed the old mark of seven 3's in a game, while teammate Sara Marks chipped in with 15 points and 11 assists. SOU (10-7, 7-0 conference) led just 37-32 at the half but used a 25-4 burst to pull away. SOU shot a scorching 54 percent from the field, including 15-of-22 from behind the arc, and outscored Albertson 55-34 in the second half. Kelley Dexter added 13 points for the Raiders, while Lindsey Hilaire dumped in 11 and Ashley Nunley 10. Men's Basketball At Caldwell, Idaho, Southern Oregon dropped its third straight Cascade Conference game and fell to 6-13 overall in the 91-72 setback to the Coyotes (10-10, 3-4). Albertson raced to a 14-point halftime edge by canning 19 of 31 shots in the first 20 minutes and making 34 of 60 for the game (57 percent). The Raiders, now 2-5 in league play, received a 24 points from senior point guard T.J. Caughell, while freshman forward Ryan Gabel added 16 off the bench. Wrestling At Forest Grove, the Southern Oregon University wrestling team continued its dominance against cross-state rival Pacific by hammering the Boxers 33-8 in a dual meet. The Raiders (3-2 duals) jumped to a 29-0 lead through seven matches before Pacific (2-8) All-American Ryan Jones scored a 12-3 major decision over Abe Ewing. SOU got technical fall victories from Brian Wilson (165), Chris Huntley (174) and Wes Balensifer (285), who closed out the match with a resounding 22-7 romp over Burton Parker. Adding major decision victories to the Raiders' cause were Waylon Alsbury (149) and Sam Baumer (197).
