--> --> Dec. 11: Second half woes cost SOU men at PLU Ashland Daily Tidings TACOMA - The Southern Oregon University men's basketball team couldn't hold on to a six-point halftime lead and fell to NCAA Division III foe Pacific Lutheran 77-68 Monday night. After missing their first four shots and committing two turnovers to start the game, the Raiders (4-4) battled back and took the lead for the first time at 21-19 and then built the lead up to nine before settling for a 34-28 halftime lead. During the first half the Raiders shot 47 percent from the floor, while holding the Lutes to a 9-for-28 clip. But PLU opened the final 20 minutes on a 10-0 run, including five points by Josh Davis to take the lead for good. The Lutes opened the lead up to 52-43 before SOU took its final shot. The Raiders went on a 19-11 run and a layup by Jeff Tacheny with 5:05 to play closed the lead to one at 63-62. But PLU ran off six straight points over the next three minutes to put the game away. The Lutes (4-2) hit on 59 percent of their shots in the second half and were led by Erik Dordal's 15 points. SOU was paced by senior Matt Zosel and junior T.J. Caughell's 14 points.
