Tourism Department will present the Bailers in the V.I. baseball fun days. The events will feature fun and baseball instrustion form minor and major league baseball players. Day 1 is Thursday at 4 p.m. at Lionel Roberts Stadium on St. Thomas. when chil- dren ages 13 and up are the focus. At 4 p.m. Friday, events move to Emile Griffith Ballpark on St. Thomas, where the focus will be on children ages 9 to 12. On Saturday, St. Croix Little Leaguers will be featured at 10 a.m. at D.C. Canegata Ballpark. Food and drinks will be on sale. St. Croix Metric Mile ST. CROIX — The St. Croix Metric Mile Road Race will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday. Registration will begin at 4 p.m. at Anally Farms in Upper Love. The distance for the race is 1,500 meters and will start at St. John's Episcopal Church and finish at the Agriculture Fair Grounds. Thompson wins STAR Jingle Bell Run By KEMP CALLWOOD Daily News Staff Michael Thompson completed the 3-mile course at Magens Bay in 18 minutes and 33 seconds to win the St. Thomas Association of Roadrunners' annual Jingle Bell Run on Sunday. Brad Kappel was second overall in 20:23, followed by Jack Hullings in 21:17, Michael Sheesley in 23:25 and Steven LaPlace in 23:34. Ali Slimming (25:45), Tegan Kappel (26:58), Adrienne Baird (27:04) and Christine Sheehan (27:47) round out the top 10. St. Croix's annual Cane Bay 5- mile Jingle Bell Run will be held at 7 a.m. on Dec. 21. The run will start and finish at Cane Bay Beach on Northshore Road, and it will run along the shore to Renaissance Carambola Resort and back. Awards include a special Jan Mitchell armament / medal to the top 20 finishers, 10 turkeys — two turkeys to the top male and female finishers, two turkeys to the best costumed male and female and raf- fle of the remaining six turkeys to the participants.
