--> --> Slideshow on wood products set at Evo's Ashland Daily Tidings Aaron Jackson of the ForestEthics Wood Campaign, which encourages United States companies to avoid purchasing wood from endangered forests, will present a slideshow and facilitate a discussion at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7 at Evo's Java House, 376 E. Main St. Float lottery will give out permits Ashland Daily Tidings Outdoor enthusiasts now can apply for a chance to float down the Wild Section of the Rogue River during the coming rafting season. Applications for the 2002 Rogue River Float Lottery will be accepted through Jan. 31, 2002. The cost to apply is $6. Winning applicants must pay $10 per person in the floating party to float the Wild Section, located between Grave and Watson Creeks on the Rogue. The lottery drawing will take place in February 2002. Successful applicants will be notified in the beginning of March. A permit is good for one specific launch date during the 2002 Regulated Use Season from May 15 through Oct. 15. To receive lottery application instructions and information, contact Tioga Resources, Inc. by mail at P.O. Box 5149, Roseburg, Ore., 97470 or by phone at (541) 672-4168. People who do not win a float permit during the drawing have a chance to obtain permits if float parties cancel or do not show up on the designated day for a float trip. Email your...
