Smoke may be visible from parts of town throughout the day. The burns are part of the fuels reduction and forest restoration efforts of the Ashland Forest Resiliency Project. All forecasts are looking good for keeping smoke away from town, the city said, and crews will stay through the weekend to reduce the amount of smoldering that might creep into the valley. No roads or trails will be closed, but hikers, bikers and drivers are asked to be aware of vehicles on the roads and expect smoke if you're in the area of the Eastview Trail.
