Nelson raced to individual victories in the 50-and 100-yard freestyles to propel the Grizz boys. Melissa Gilmore won the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle to help the Tornado girls pull out a 115-105 win. Other first-place finishers for the Grizz boys were: Ben Dawson (200 free); Geoff Berteau (100 butterfly); Caleb Salmond (100 backstroke); Ross Mather (100 breaststroke); and the boys' 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams. Michelle Smith and Ashley Roda paced the Ashland girls' team. Each nabbed a pair of victories. Smith won both the 50 free and the 100 fly, while Roda took the 200 and 100 free. Roda, Smith, Hannah Bergstrom and Caitlin Emery also teamed up to win the 400 free relay for the Grizzlies, who also took the 200 medley relay. Also for the Grizz girls, Jesse Bright took second in the 200 individual medley and Faye Walker took second in the 500 free. The AHS boys also had several second-place performances. Berteau finished second in the 200 individual medley, Kyle Humphrey was second in the 100 fly and Andrew DelCarlo was second in the 100 free and 100 breaststroke.
