He will also be teaching an Introduction to Bottleneck Delta guitar that day at 1 p.m. Walker has opened for diverse musicians from the Righteous Brothers, the Blind Boys of Alabama, Taj Mahal, David Lindley, and Kelly Joe Phelps to the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Steppenwolf. His hands-on workshop, an Introduction to Bottleneck Guitar, will be held at the studio on the day of the show, from 1–3 p.m. Cost is $25 with guitar, $15 to participate without. Participants should have a working familiarity with basic guitar chord structures and have a strong sense of rhythm and timing. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the workshop scheduled start time. Full participants are welcome to bring audio and video recording devices. Tickets are $10 advance at Ashland’s Music Coop, 181 A Street, and will be available for in limited quantities at the door ($12).
