Beekeepers Ball set for Nov. 12 Saturday Oct 22, 2016 at 12:01 AM Local report The Fifth Annual Beekeepers Ball will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, in the Bigham Knoll Ballroom, 525 East E St., Jacksonville. The costume theme is “Just ‘Bee’ Yourself” and the night will be emceed by Maria Kelly, with music from “Flat 5 Flim Flam” and “The Brothers Reed.” The Beekeepers Ball is a fundraiser for the Bee Girl organization, a nonprofit whose mission is to inspire communities to conserve bees and their habitat. Funds will go toward a “Kids and Bees” program, “Farming for Bees” research and education and for a “Next Generation Beekeepers Initiative.” Tickets for the 21-and-over event are $22 in advance and $28 the day of, and are available at www.beegirl.org as well as the Music Coop in Ashland.
