--> --> Ashland High dancers to perform at Blazer game Ashland Daily Tidings Members of the Ashland High dance team and six other AHS students will perform in front of more than 20,000 people at a Portland Trail Blazers game Sunday. The seven dancers, including dance team coach Kristina Walker, will perform a partner dance as part of the pregame entertainment, then will stay to watch the Blazers take on the Minnesota Timberwolves. The seven dancers performing will be: Walker, Meagan Armstrong, Kristin Cipes, Jessica Cipes, Kymmi Kellems, Sarah Michele and Carrie Hoxmeier. Their partners will be six boys from Ashland High and one who graduated from AHS in June. Those boys are: Brad Rahmlow, Taran Madler, Kevin Spears, Alex Fink, Ryan Griffin, Kevin Hurd and graduate Danny Han. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. and can be seen locally on ASCN, Channel 75. Armstrong, one of the team's captains, said the Grizzlies will be performing a hip- hop dance. The team has been practicing the routine since Walker was contacted by the Blazers two months ago. "I'm kind of nervous," Armstrong said. "There's a big difference between a high school game and a Blazer game." Walker was originally asked if her team could dance at a Blazer game two years ago, but the dance team was only recently formed at the time and lacked experience. This time, Walker and the rest of the team has much more experience under its belt. Email your...
