State of the City address Tuesday night Monday Jan 30, 2017 at 8:30 PM Jan 30, 2017 at 8:30 PM Local report The third annual Ashland State of the City gathering begins at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, in the Community Center at 59 Winburn Way. After social time, the program beings at 6 p.m. with a welcome and introductions, the year in review, a State of the City address by Mayor John Stromberg, presentation of the James M. Ragland "Volunteer Spirit" award. The Ragland Award was established by the city of Ashland in 1994 in honor of a former councilor who was involved in a number of citizen volunteer efforts.
