He has a plan to restore the values that have always made America a respected leader in the world. He has a plan to return good-paying jobs to the USA- jobs that let American families get ahead in an America where the middle class is growing, not being squeezed. He has a plan to make health care a right for all Americans. He has a plan to make this nation independent from Middle East oil. And he has a plan to modernize and strengthen America's military and lead a new era of alliances - so young Americans are never put in harm's way because we insisted on going it alone. He possesses an incredible environmental voting record. Let's vote for the future - vote Kerry! Susan Roudebush Ashland How can people support terror? There are several regular writers to the Tidings who support the principles of terrorism. They support children being shot in the back. They support televised beheadings of innocent civilians, the slaughtering of commuters on buses, the blowing up of discos full of teenagers, the stoning of women and homosexuals. In other words, they support the terrorism of Radical Islam. If a letter appears in the Tidings condemning Islamic terrorism, you can count on an immediate follow-up article by one of these regular writers defending it. From the massacres of Beslan to Bali to Tel Aviv to Madrid to New York, and on and on, these writers will be there to conjure up justifications for the Islamofascists. The writers who support such horror are people blinded by their hatred of America, to the extent that they will excuse any atrocity committed by America's enemies. They do not belong to an Al Qaeda cell, they do not think of themselves as fascists, but they identify themselves as "progressives" of the Radical Left. They and unconditionally support the enemies of our nation, no matter who they are or how depraved their actions. Today, that enemy is Radical Islam, and the Radical Left has made them their comrades-in-arms. All of us, regardless of religion, ethnicity or political affiliation, must make clear that supporting terrorism and radicalism is unacceptable in our community. There can be no excuses made for murder. We must challenge and condemn the distorted views of these extremists. It was Edmund Burke, British statesman of the 18th century, who said "All that's necessary for the forces of evil to win in the world is for enough good men to do nothing."
