--> --> ASHLAND POLICE AND FIRE · 4:33 a.m. Saturday - Ashland man, 19, cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and minor in possession of alcohol by consumption, Hersey and Helman streets. · 2 a.m. Saturday - Four male juveniles referred to JDH for criminal trespassing and theft at the Oak Knoll Golf Course after allegedly taking golfballs valued at $50 and hitting golf balls at the course. · 9:15 a.m. Friday - Domestic assault, 00 block Emerick Street, Ashland woman, 23, lodged at Jackson County Jail. · ASHLAND CHAMBER MUSIC WORKSHOP will take place Monday through Friday at the SOU Music Recital Hall. Participants are amateur chamber musicians from various places in the U.S. and Canada. The public is invited to attend free programs from 3 to 5 p.m. each day. The programs will not be formal recitals but a chance for over 60 musicians to hear and perform sections of up to 20 different pieces of chamber music. The event is open to the public and sponsored by the Ashland Christian Fellowship and Low Down Boards. Four top skaters from San Diego will be among the demonstrators. There will be six workshops offered, taught by eight faculty;Poetry; The Sonnet and Other Forms; The Short Story, a fiction class; The Deep Structure: The Real Stories, also a fiction course; Memory and Imagination, a nonfiction class; and Autobiography of the Soul, another nonfiction course. Patten recently returned from the Amazon with floral essences created by indigenous women healers, and "new, energetic healing techniques." The lecture is free and open to all. It will be a comprehensive wilderness medicine certification program and provide training for recreational guides, environmental educators, and outdoor enthusiasts.
