The tunnel, famous for being the site of a train robbery in 1923, was heavily damaged by a fire believed sparked by transients or trespassers on Nov. 17. The blaze caused the collapse of a 300-to-400-foot section of the tunnel, located off of Interstate 5 in the Siskiyou Summit area. The fire was officially declared out by crews on Monday, officials for the Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad Co. said. 2:02 a.m. Wednesday - Report of an intoxicated adult male, 32, unable to take care of himself on the 1200 block of Siskiyou Boulevard. He was taken to the Medford Detoxification Center. 8:05 p.m. Tuesday - An Ashland man, 19, stole several health care items form the Market of Choice on Siskiyou Boulevard. 6 p.m. Tuesday - Jackson County Fire District 5 reported a flue fire in a chimney on the 100 block of Capri Street in Talent. The fire was quickly extinguished. 5:15 p.m. Tuesday - Report of unknown subjects who unsuccessfully tried to break into the Hong Kong Bar on East Main Street. 4:25 p.m. Tuesday - A male transient , 19, was arrested on two outstanding warrants and being in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana on A Street at Pioneer Street.
