--> --> We hope you will continue giving the gift of life When terrorists attacked us on our own soil on September 11, local citizen-patriots crowded into blood drives to give to the cause. Sadly, there were so few attack survivors that we did not ship blood to those in New York and Washington D.C. Instead, the Red Cross filled thousands of blood needs around the Pacific Northwest. Your gift of life gave many families across the region hope for the future. We not only welcomed existing donors who we see on a routine basis, we also welcomed an entirely new group of donors who approached us for the first time. We will never forget what happened on September 11. But please, don't forget that surgeries, accidents and transfusions requiring stable, safe blood supplies are an everyday occurrence. Disasters large and small require medical response. We must always expect the unexpected. We hope you will continue giving the gift of life. We need you and America needs you. Thank you.
